Wut,

A rather late response here, but I have seen The Fighter and it is great. I also saw The Machinist and it is one of my favorite all time movies. Another lesser known Bale movie that I really liked is The Prestige. But I watch everything he is in and he is always very good.

Hugo is another 2011 movie I thought was very good.

Me to, I was impressed with his movies (not always his acting) and went through the list of his movies and watched most of them. Great stuff in most cases, not many actors get a chance to star in so many great movies

And to think Wahlberg was the lead actor in the Fighter, though still a good actor he was blown away by Bale's performance ;)

A really excellent Bale movie is Velvet Goldmine.  Also stars Ewan McGregor and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, with Eddie Izzard thrown in for good measure.

It's about the glam rock era of the early 1970s and has some really excellent music.  Seems loosely based on Bowie and Iggy Pop, with the names changed to protect the (not so) innocent.

Warning - Don't watch if you are extremely homophobic.

Headhunters, Norwegian crime/thriller. I found some of the moves at first predictable (I actually guessed exactly what's going to happen), but it becomes quite a bit more complicated after that. Overall a good movie, I'd rate it 7,5/10, just like IMDB did it (it's a very high rank for them) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1614989/

With Jared Leto, reminds me of "Requiem of a Dream"

I will check it out, thanks mate.

I've watched requiem for a dream 15 years ago, but I think it's the same kind of movie, it gives you a feeling that the screenplay writer, if not most of the crew, were on some heavy drugs, probably hallucinogenic too :)

just saw a movie I was wanting to see for a long time and it is pretty amazing, glad I remembered of it today!

its a great story (based in a real one), very interesting movie about the life of a quadriplegic that hires a "crazy" man to help him 24h a day, its a lot of fun but it doesnt let the fun get into the story, its a beautiful movie, stunning music too in the right moments, I am sure it wont dissapoint you guys, guess the imdb rate does speak for it this time but not always, I am more fan of rottentomatoes

The Intouchables!

Louis-san, I'm going to slap you silly for not reading the OP's post! if the post was midway then sure, I would understand.
This was the first movie mentioned in this thread.

Or are we starting over? in that case make sure you also see "little white lies"  ::)

Here is a 2009 movie I caught on netflix. Very thought provoking I thought.

The Man from Earth: An impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he is an immortal who has walked the earth for 14,000 years.

I love how the audio was done for this scene.

Best movie of all time...in my opinion is "Last of the Mohicans"  If you love photography you'd love the beauty of the scenes. It's filmed in mountain region of North Carolina and after I went to this area I feel in love with it and try to go back camping every year. If you've never seen it I highly recommend it. You can see it on Netflix...;)

Anybody watch Prometheus? Thoughts?

I saw Prometheus at the weekend.

Technically very proficient, but in every other respect very confused, no sensible plot, little characterization and generally gave me the impression of having been produced by people whose main interest is video games and special effects.

Just my opinion though.  Others seem to like it.

Yes, there are plenty of plot holes and some silly scenes. I think some answers purposely left unanswered.

Visuals were fantastic and "David" the android put on a stellar performance.

All in all I enjoyed it and it leaves you with thought provoking questions.
