Title: RedBubble tax reciept
Post by: Shelma1 on April 13, 2016, 11:52
I'm new to selling my images Print On Demand, so maybe this is how it normally works? I made my first sale on RedBubble and just recieved an emailed receipt for my tax records that shows a $2.00 printing fee deducted from the full sale amount, and an assurance that it's been paid in full and I don't owe them any money.

This sounds like the way CreativeMarket is handling income tax issues. Is this usual on POD sites?

Hi,
I dont know if that is true butr I saw comments on another forum from people saying that RB works different from Zazzle. Working with Zazzle, is pretty much like you are an artist  licensing designs on their products, and you get paid royalties, so you are not seen as a "seller" or manufacturer whereas on RB is like you would be paying them for the printing, and people where concerned that this way is like you end up being the seller who just paid a company to print these products. I don't know if that is true but some people where concerned about the tax side of things. So I guess is best to check with RB to see how things work.

I forgot to say....

I'm only on Zazzle which is print on demand, and there is pretty much handled the same way as Istock or Shutter, where I only receive royalties, and a 1099  at the end of the year.
