Hi Avava,

I'll start with a song -
'In Dublin, fair city,
Where girls are so pretty ...'
It rained yesterday.
It is raining today.
It will, most certainly, rain tomorrow.
There you go!
Irish weather in a nutshell.
Waiting for the lucky leprechaun to bring me the sparkle and magic of snowflakes, I wish you all, happy, happy holidays!

Sharply,

I didn't know you were a Vancouverite. I sit with the Cap Valley with a good view of Grouse. My wife is up doing the Grind tonight. I expect a popsicle home anytime soon.

Hey Zeus,

I used to live in North Van (on the flank of Seymour), but had to relocate to South Vancouver for my son's school (in Ladner). He'll be finishing high school next year, and I can't wait to get back to the North Shore! I have a season's pass at Grouse this year and plan to get up there whenever it's not cloudbound. The Grind is closed for winter - I hope your wife isn't going up there regardless: it isn't safe!

My wife is a very experienced outdoors person and takes care not to place herself in any problem situations. I do appreciate the concern though. She said the line up was so long to get back down yesterday around 4:30 that it was faster to walk out. So they did. I guess all the pent up skiing desire was vented in one day. We too get the season pass there although not this year. Too many other things happening.

Pete

For sure it gets that cold there!! Canada has two official temperature scales. Degrees Kelvin for Montreal and Celcius for the rest of the country ;-)

Well another snow storm here in Vancouver! Wish I could just stay home but unfortunately I have to drive into town. On top of working full time I am also a stage mom and my son has two shows today. So I will spend my day backstage at one of the theaters on Granville Island and not return home until 11pm tonight.  :P  I wonder how many people will show up today/tonight. Both shows are sold out but many will probably not want to venture out in this. Christmas Day is off (thank goodness) and then back for two more shows on Boxing Day!

Everyone go out and have some fun if you can!

Sunny and 77 F degrees here on the west coast of Florida.

Wouldn't mind some colder weather - could you northerners send some our way?

Lora,

We're buried here on the North Shore. Must be close to a foot and half total now. I couldn't get out to rent a movie today unless I ski let alone travel. Drive safe.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum but just couldn't help joining in - especially when we're talking about the WEATHER.  Ha!  I'm downtown (Vancouver) that is and shortly will be trying to make my way to the north shore.  I've got my snowshoes with me.  I know Zeus and where he is - and vice versa we're not that far from each other on the north shore - THIS IS NUTS!!!
