Hello again,

I was just wondering what would be the appropriate way (and correct way) to shoot planes at an air show.  Most likely in the sky, the sky will be much brighter than the planes (I'm assuming) so I don't want to overexpose the sky or underexpose the planes.

Any suggestions?

I haven't taken photos of planes, but I've seen many poor shots, so I know what you're thinking about.

However, the best shots will probably be the ones where you have the sun in your back that lits up the planes too.

What kind of lens do you suggest to use for the air show?

probably as long as a lens as you have for the arial shots. 

If there is going to be any planes on the ground to view, a wide angle lens would work good.
