When I received this image I could not believe it was true. But it was. Read here (http://colinseymour.co.uk/geography-101-for-chicagos-wgn-tv).

What a blunder! I don't think they teach geography in schools anymore. I'm not exactly sure what they are teaching.
-
They are teaching Photoshop.
-
Unbelievable
-
That is so sad....
To be fair, they ARE both continents ;)

South Africa? I think you skipped Geography in school too, Lisa! ;D
-
Africa is a continent, no? OK, you're being technical when you say South Africa.
OK, then I will say "to be fair, they both begin with South". :)

South Africa is a country. South America is a continent.

Madelaide, I think the confusion is that the graphic in your OP is a picture of South America with a big arrow and a caption that says "Africa???". Unless you click on the link it isn't obvious that it's about South Africa.
Serves me right for not bothering to click on the link... :)

Yes, but Africa is a continent...I think that's what Lisa meant. :D

Yes, you need to click on the link, to see that the news was about the South African World Cup. Funny confusion though

they probably just meant that the world cup will be won by a team from south america
-
Haha, well, at least both Africa and S. America were the same continent...once. :)
West coast of Africa match east coast of South America.
-
Well technically, if you look at a a map of Pangaea, there was once only one super-continent.
But now we are REALLY getting off topic ;D
-
Even if you don't click on the link, but view the image I uploaded in full size, you will see the "South Africa" on the South America map.

Yes, lol, I was thinking this was just a pure human error, but it seems it's more lack of knowledge.

Yeah, I already admitted I didn't click on it. It isn't displaying in full size unless you CLICK ON THE IMAGE
What's your point Maria? That I really AM a dumbass American who doesn't know the difference between South America and Africa, or the difference between Africa the continent and South Africa the country (Nelson Mandela, former Apartheid, Boers, Capetown, etc.)??
Okay, fine - believe whatever you need to. ::)
-
Girls, girls! Kisses for both! Don't start fight please. If you start fighting this forum will fall apart.

Im from Canada (British Columbia) and used to drive truck deep into the American south. Some people down there assumed I either somehow drove from England or from somewhere in South America.
-
Geez, Lisa, I only meant that the link wasn't necessary to see the mistake. :-\

Lump is on the wrong side? ::)
Cape of Good hope is not Cape Horn? ???

What do you think about this
Search GLOBE on Shutter an you will see on first most pop page this image...
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-12225532/stock-vector-vector-shiny-globe-with-shadow.html (http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-12225532/stock-vector-vector-shiny-globe-with-shadow.html)
Globe without Antarctica with NewYork on Equator line. Cape of Good hope is near South pole??? If it so popular my only conclusion is that buyers "wanabee designers" are uneducated too and they sell they "design" to uneducated TV and magazines or webby creep stars and editors who read and look without any kind of mind.
I find another visionary case below (thnx good it is not on first page but I think from time to time some buy this too).

Globe without north pole. Maybe radioactive cyan suggest that Yellowstone is imploded and stretch America to North pole ;D
I dont want to dig more. I am to scare what I will find...
