Terrible news.  I always enjoyed reading his posts over the years and wondered where he disappeared to.  He was very intelligent, straight up and to the point and a great talent.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I was originally drawn to Stephens posts on MSG because of his interest in aviation. However. I soon discovered that not only where his photos "sharply _done" but his opinions and help in his post "sharply_done" and laced with good old commen sense
A sad loss

Very sad news. We've been emailing back and forth for years. I always looked forward to hearing from him. He was such a talented smart guy and always willing to go out of his way to help out with just about anything. I loved his attitude of work less and play more. Through his talent he was able to live that lifestyle.  He always got excited right around skiing season. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies to his family, especially his son Cameron whom he spoke of often.

Apologies for the lateness of this post.  We were unaware that this thread existed until recently.  Thank you to everyone who posted for your kind words about Steve.  He was indeed kind, smart, interesting, witty and talented.  He was a great brother, son, friend and most importantly, father.  Always willing to go the extra mile for anyone.  He was the type of guy that you could have any type of conversation with and it would be stimulating and humourous.  He was fun to be around, we had many good nights around the campfire on our annual summer camping trips with Steve and Cameron.  No one knew where the conversation would lead and that was part of the joy of being with such a great guy.  He touched many people's lives with his enthusiasm and love of life.  As you noted in your posts, we are all better people for having known such a fine human being.  His spirit will live on in our hearts and guide us in our lives. Be happy Steve, be free.....
Sincerely,

Stephen Strathdee's Family
