Ukraine strikes Russias Saky air base in occupied Crimea  8) 8) 8)

The Security Service of Ukraine and the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a massive fire attack on Russias Saky military air base in the temporarily occupied Crimea last night.
This is reported by Ukrinform, referring to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the data from our sources, at least 12 combat aircraft (Su-24 and Su-30) were in the airfield, as well as the Pantsir missile system. A training base of the Mojaher unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators was also located there. Russians use these UAVs to coordinate their air attacks and as combat drones, the interlocutors told.

According to them, Ukrainian attacks reached the target and caused serious damage to Russian military equipment.

The Security Service of Ukraine mentioned that Ukrainian defenders had used drones to overload Russias air defenses, and then fired the Neptune missiles.

Pro-Russian Telegram channels are confirming the significant damage and losses. At least 30 Russian servicemen were reported killed.

The Security Service of Ukraine expressed confidence that Russian occupiers can no longer feel safe within the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Glory to Ukraine!

the point is NATO's expansion plan to the east, which in the end will inevitably also involve China.

Putin's government will soon end, times are changing,NATO will continue to expand,it is now an unbeatable superpower, neither China nor anyone can now openly challenge NATO,not even the three allied dragon heads can do anything against NATO anymore, they know it too.

The consequence of all this is inevitable,I see a not too distant future in which China will join NATO after other Asian countries will join first.
You write illusions, the reality is completely different.
The third world war is underway, and it is not known how it will end. Especially when the Democrats are in power in the United States.

and you write sci-fi books because there will be no WWIII.

yes,at the beginning of the conflict the iron fist of the republicans was needed, but at this stage the democrats are better suited,it seems to me that the current American government is quite good at diplomacy, just what is needed now.

I understand but I do not fully agree with Zelensky's words to the UN Security Council,I understand that he is angry and has every reason to be,but Russia must not be removed from the Security Council, because now more than ever it is important that it continues to be present.

In my opinion the only thing that should be done is to arrest and convict Putin of war crimes and put an end to all this,That's what will happen anyway,it's just a matter of time.

There won't even be any war between the US and China over Taiwan.

whatever happens in Italy we already have an army of 200,000 soldiers ready to fight alongside our allies, which for a small country like Italy is a lot.

Zero Talent, we are discussing only two parties. Democratic and Republican.
You are frightening that if the Republicans come to power, it will be worse for Ukraine. Yes, your horror stories may have a certain percentage of truth, this is called risks. I do not like and do not tolerate stagnation, double standards and trading on Ukrainian blood. The third world war is underway. And if the Democrats are not effective, what fool would support them? If the Republicans come and turn out to be worse than the Democrats, then they will not have support either.
But, I saw the foreign policy of the Republicans when Trump was president, I liked this policy more than the policy of the Democrats. You understand much of what the Republicans say very crudely and do not fully understand what they want to do. This is your problem.
If I were deciding who to give power to in the United States, I would have given power to the Republicans a year ago.

Republicans are willing and able to pursue a more comprehensive foreign policy than Democrats do. Republicans want not only the defeat of the Russians, but also a significant weakening of China. Only under Republican leadership can the democratic world defeat the Chinese dragon.

I don't know if you've been following the news today.

The fact is, Biden has asked the U.S. Congress to provide $24 billion in additional military aid to Ukraine. Republicans, however, are reacting skeptically - support for Ukraine in Republican ranks is on the decline.

Maybe you should think about it and inform yourself!

Ir's ironic that both you and putin are rooting for trump to return to power...   ::)

russian president vladimir putin recently said he was "happy" to hear Trump's promise to "resolve all burning issues within several days" including the war in Ukraine.

Think about it.
I have seen the Republican policy under Trump, it is more comprehensive and strategically correct than the Democratic policy.

Biden and other Western leaders (Polish ones in the case above) are walking a tightrope.

Far right populists are seizing the chance to drive wedge on Ukraine spending. Many voters in other countries are fickle. If they feel like they are doing good they will get behind a cause. If they think there is a chance of escalation or real sacrifice on their part theyre out. The narrative does matter, even places like here. Its why Russia spends millions on troll farms to spout propaganda all over the internet.

I wrote about this yesterday in this thread.
In short, the Republicans' position is correct and they are asking the right questions.
You are trying to interpret very directly what is written in the press. The press is not analytics, its just some kind of news.

There's a lot of conflicting information out there. But in general, Bidens policies are very bad, the Democrats spend huge amounts of money, but the necessary weapons do not reach Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have quick success. The Republicans are right, Biden shouldn't be allowed to spend money if he's a coward and can't spend the money properly. These are all the results of the policies of cowardly Democrats.
That coward Biden signed the Lend-Lease Act over a year ago, but has not delivered a single gun under that law. The Lend-Lease Act allows us not to waste US taxpayers' money; according to this law, weapons must be supplied to Ukraine, and the list is determined by the Pentagon. After the Russians are eliminated in Ukraine, these weapons are returned to the United States. Everything is fast, efficient and doesnt cost a lot of money. But Biden is a coward, so he spends a lot of money on unknown things.

There are elections in Poland now, that's why politicians are making such statements. After the elections, Poland will continue to supply weapons.

Ukrainian soldiers instead of Cossacks. French artist recreates Illia Riepin's famous painting in photo

French artist Emeric Lhuisset has recreated a painting by Ukrainian artist Illia Riepin, Cossacks Write a Letter to the Turkish Sultan, in a photo. The painting depicts the modern Ukrainian troops instead of the Cossacks.

The title of the work is I Hear the Cossacks Response from Afar, as reported by the BBC.

The artist spent a year working on the project. It features soldiers of the 112th Territorial Defence Brigade. The figure in the centre is Roman, the author of the Ukrainian catchphrase "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" (the final communication made on 24 February, the first day of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, by Ukrainian border guard Roman Hrybov to the Russian missile cruiser Moskva ed.).

On his Instagram account, the photo's author noted the importance of culture in war.

"While the war intended to conquer the Ukrainian territory is visible to all and its condemnation relatively consensual in Europe, the much more insidious war which is being played out around the control of history and culture remains very much unknown and many Europeans participate, often unconsciously, to the diffusion of this Russian colonial construction," Emeric said.
He believes culture is a weapon on a vast battlefield, so we should not forget about it.

Background: The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York recognised the artists Illia Riepin and Ivan Aivazovskyi as Ukrainians.

Ukrainian artist Illia Riepin, Cossacks Write a Letter to the Turkish Sultan.

Painting in 1891.

In popular culture

"Ilya Repin's Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks (c. 1890)
The sultanCossack correspondence became extremely popular at the start of the Russo-Turkish War (18771878). By then, the most popularised versions of the story centred on the Zaporozhian Cossacks (from "beyond the rapids", Ukrainian: za porohamy), inhabiting the lands around the lower Dnieper River in Ukraine, who had supposedly just defeated Ottoman Empire forces in battle some time in the 1670s. However, despite his army having suffered this loss to them, Ottoman sultan Mehmed IV demanded that the Cossacks submit to Ottoman rule. The Cossacks, led by Ivan Sirko, replied in a characteristic manner; they wrote a letter, replete with insults and profanities. The late-19th-century painting by Ilya Repin, Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, exhibits the Cossacks' pleasure at striving to come up with ever more base vulgarities. In the 19th century, the historical Zaporozhian Cossacks were sometimes the subject of picaresque tales demonstrating admiration of their primitive vitality and contemptuous disregard for authority."

Because the Minsk landing ship was due to go on combat duty the next day, personnel were on board. Irretrievable losses amounted to 62 occupiers.

Following the destruction of the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, 34 officers died, including the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Another 105 occupiers were wounded. The headquarters building is beyond repair.

Olena Zelenska in an interview with CBS: It's not enough for the world to be aware of the violence of Russians against Ukrainian children criminals must be punished.

Victims of the violence committed by the Russian military against Ukrainian children will begin to testify en masse when they see that the perpetrators are punished, and Ukraine relies on the world's help in establishing justice in this matter. This was stated by First Lady Olena Zelenska in an interview with CBS during her visit to the United States.

The President's wife, in particular, emphasized that Russian crimes against Ukrainian children are deliberate intimidation.

"There are so many of them that these cannot be isolated cases, this is deliberate intimidation. When you tell the world that our Prosecutor General's Office is investigating 231 cases of sexual violence committed by the Russian military, that there are 13 children among the victims: 12 girls and one boy, and that the youngest victim was only 4 years old, you see sheer horror in the eyes of the audience. But this is not enough. There must be punishment. Victims will not start testifying en masse until they see that there is justice," the First Lady said.

She spoke about more than 19,000 children abducted by Russia (these are only those who are known for certain) and how Ukraine is forced to turn to free nations to speed up their return.

Olena Zelenska also emphasized the importance of psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainians after what they experienced during the war and spoke about the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program.

"We have a huge need for psychologists and psychotherapists. At the same time, Ukrainian doctors gain such powerful experience in extremely difficult conditions that they can share it themselves. The international best practices we borrowed from our partners had to be improved to the point where the program became unique. And now our specialists will be able to share their unique experience," the President's wife said.

The First Lady informed of the activities of the Olena Zelenska Foundation in terms of humanitarian, educational and medical assistance to Ukrainians.

She also focused on her cultural diplomacy projects, including the opening of Ukrainian bookshelves in the world's libraries and the launch of audio guides in Ukrainian at major tourist attractions.

"Culture makes us who we are. If you destroy culture, it will be easier to destroy people. For a long time, numerous manifestations of our culture were considered Russian, it was colonization. Now we are decolonizing our culture. Unfortunately, the world knows little about it. We are fixing this now. We have a lot to show the world to tell them who we are, what we love, what we think about," Olena Zelenska summarized.
