Tanks, vehicles, surveillance radars: Germany sends new military aid package to Ukraine.

Germany has handed over another military aid package to Ukraine, including special-purpose vehicles and tanks, as well as ammunition, drones and surveillance radars.
The list of the military assistance provided by the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine has been updated on the website of the German Federal Government.

Additionally, the German side sent three border protection vehicles (in addition to 230 delivered before); four truck tractor trains 8x8 HX81 and four semi-trailers (75 and 70 accordingly delivered before); 16 trucks Zetros (200 delivered before); three vehicles (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles) (297 delivered before); and 13 trucks MAN TGS (12 delivered before).

Ukraine also received more than 1,000 rounds 155mm ammunition; 1.5 million rounds of ammunition for fire arms; 10 reconnaissance drones VECTOR; 14 ground surveillance radars GO12; and 10,000 safety glasses (from Bundeswehr and industry stocks).

A reminder that Germany is the second largest supplier of weapons for Ukraine.

German Foreign Minister dispels putin's hopes for reduction in support of Ukraine.

Annalena Baerbock, Germany’s Foreign Minister, has commented on the possible hopes of Russian President Vladimir Putin to reduce EU support of Ukraine due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

"Putin is rejoicing too soon, given the dramatic situation around the world. Because we will not only continue our support of Ukraine – we will continue to expand and increase it," Baerbok emphasised.

She announced a significant increase in support for Ukraine.

"Our support will be significantly expanded, especially next year," said the German minister.

Baerbock did not provide any details on those plans.

Speaking about the coming weeks and months, she mentioned a winter defence shield, which includes supplying Ukraine with another Patriot air defence system and power generators.

According to Bild, the German budget for 2024 will include an additional 4 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine.

These intentions were indirectly confirmed on 13 November by Boris Pistorius, German Defence Minister, who announced a "strong signal" for Ukraine.

That is because the EU is not a military organisation and it does not have an army. Therefore, EU institutions can offer primarily financial aid.

Military assistance must come from the member states of the EU directly and they do provide this assistance, most notably Germany with 18 Billion Dollar worth of military aid, according to the graph.
