It's a nice day today. Armed Forces of Ukraine strike with rockets on the Crimean bridge. The missiles are Ukrainian, not accurate, but work is underway.

Glory to Ukraine!

Zero Talent, I have provided a link to the stats. I do not argue with your phrases, because I do not claim the opposite. I don't care about Trump and his supporters, I wrote about the Republicans.

Trump and his supporters ARE Republicans.

He will win the nomination and all Republicans will align behind him, like they did in 2016 and 2020.

Here is another attempt to defund Biden's administration support for Ukraine, initiated yesterday, by Republicans.

Statistics about Republican support for Ukraine and Biden's very weak policy. Most Republicans support Ukraine and against the Russians!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/07/27/republicans-support-ukraine-war/

... and yet, what you fail or don't want to understand (ostrich syndrome?) is that those who initiated the anti-Ukraine amendments were Republicans: Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene, both HUGE trump supporters, because they think alike and their policies are identical.

You also fail or don't want to understand (ostrich syndrome?) that ALL those 70+ who voted in favor of those anti-Ukraine amendments were Republicans, while NONE ( = ZERO) of the elected Democrats supported them.

You also fail or don't want to understand (ostrich syndrome?) that if 59% of Americans support continued U.S. military assistance for Ukraine, but only 50% of the Republicans, this means that we rather have more Ukraine skeptics among Republicans than Democrats.

You also fail or don't want to understand (ostrich syndrome?) that trump will win the GoP nomination.

You also fail or don't want to understand (ostrich syndrome?) that trump claims hell end the war in 24 hours. And that's by asking Ukrainians to give up their lands or else stop all US aid.

Slava Ukraini!

In addition, there are statements from the Republican camp that advocate ending aid to Ukraine as much as possible.
Republican strategist and former Trump adviser Elbridge Colby, who is being touted in Washington as a potential foreign policy adviser to a possible incoming Republican administration, says the U.S. needs all resources to focus on a confrontation with China.
He considers the Russia-Ukraine conflict to be comparatively insignificant and a European problem.
He says the burden of the Ukraine war must be borne by Europe - the U.S. has no resources to spare for it.

This was covered in the article I linked to. Such proposals are supported only by a small group of people.
In 2016-2020, Republicans along with Democrats voted in such a way that Trump was forced to sign their decisions, or these decisions would take effect without Trump's signature.
I do not agree that all Republicans will abruptly become Trump supporters.

Yes it's true. I agree with such statements. China poses a serious threat to the entire world. The Russian Empire attacked Ukraine on the orders of China. If the Chinese empire is liquidated, all other fascist countries such as North Korea, Iran and Russia will quickly self-destruct.
Russia now poses a greater threat to the EU than to the US. Therefore, Germany must stop trading with the Russians and must produce a lot of weapons and supply them to Ukraine. This applies not only to Germany, but to the entire EU.
And in general, drive the Russians out of Germany, most of them are rashists and work for putin.

No. It was not. Your article is from July 27th and it is discussing 2 older Republican initiatives.

The one I just mentioned above is a new Republican push against Ukraine, from yesterday, August 11th, 2023.

You still don't get it: Republicans are an existential threat to Ukraine. They are relentless. They will offer it (or a big chunk of it) to putin on a silver plate if trump takes control of the White House.

Amazing how deep the ostrich buried his head in the sand.  :-\

July 27 or August 11, what's the difference? The same people offer something. You clearly do not understand what was written in that article. You probably really like the Democrats. You tell a lot of horror stories, constantly mention the ostrich. In my opinion, the ostrich in this case is you.  ;D
Don't be afraid of the Republicans, they are the good guys who will make Germany pay for their good policy towards Russia, will make Germany produce a lot of weapons for Ukraine and not only Germany. Democrats are cowards.

And even these initiatives of Trump supporters are not directed against Ukraine. These Republicans are already signaling to the EU that it is mainly the EU countries that should pay for the war in Europe.

You are not alone, Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are also afraid of the Republicans. And this is the main point!

So, thanks to the Democrats and the Germans, the war in Ukraine continues. NATO countries have supplied very few weapons, tanks, and have not supplied aircraft or long-range missiles at all. Until autumn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will fight according to the rules of the First World War. The war will continue for the next third year.
I think these disastrous results of the Democrats are used by the Republicans in the elections.

Yes, indeed. Without their support for the Ukraine, Putin would problaby hosting a victory parade in Kyiv by now.

This topic has nothing to do with the REAL war currently confronting ALL of us but it does emphasize the total stupidity and lack of true leadership our little blue planet needs. Rasputin, Bideless, Justin Tooslow, etc. It doesn't matter. This planet is dying while we, the people, elect clowns to carry on convincing the
masses that their actions are conducted to strengthen and protect the borders they live within. This is while the real enemy, climate change and global warming, is destroying our little blue planet.
We are documentarians. Our images present the stark truth. The reality of the era we live in and how our Clowns, with their focus on domination, ignores the true reality. Our planet is dying. The images we take are solid and indisputable. Let's hope our concerted effort will convince the masses before it's too late.

Finally a different topic on this multi topic thread.

Completely agree with nature going wild as we were used to have it. On the long term it's not that weird. Where I live we had a kilometer (around 3,000 feet) of ice on our land and we have had periods you could just walk to England on the oceans bed.

Man made disaster or not (nowadays) what is it you prefer to put your money on and focus on? In reducing CO2 emissions or in water level protection? Or both, whatever you believe. Just curious :)

Personally I believe that focus should be on preventing damage first and then on spending money on this questionable CO2 story. I am convinced we have put more CO2 in the air then if we were not there but I still think (look at all the bush fires and volcano eruptions) that mother nature is quite a bit stronger of getting things twisted then we are. Life will always go on, with or without us, whatever we do, so then in order to protect our species defence should be our focus now. Not saying we should change our way of life but deal with immenent threats first. You know building dikes along rivers, seawalls etc...
With just focussing on CO2 reduction (which is a good idea) it's just wishful thinking that problems will go away by itself.

To give you an example. With covid we have reduced an enormous amount in Co2 reduction for two years, yet we are confronted with enormous natural disasters this year. Sure things don't work that quickly and it is matter of decades but still we are not prepared to take on these disasters (man made or not) and we are not putting any money in preventing this collateral damage, are we?

So, if you had (theoretically) 100 dollars to spend. How much would go to prevention and how much to to protection?

Let's hope our concerted effort will convince the masses before it's too late.
Russians and Chinese will not be convinced. Most of the Russians live in conditions comparable to the Middle Ages and according to the rules of the barbarians. For two years now, the Russians have been creating ecocide in Ukraine, and they promise to blow up the nuclear power plant. I see in the world media little is written about the damage to the environment for the entire planet. Everyone thinks that if the Russians blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, then the chemical waste remains only in Ukraine, but this is a lie.
Now the main threats to the environment are the existence of the Russian Empire and the Chinese Empire. First of all, these empires must be liquidated.

The war in Ukraine is a human tragedy. Its also an environmental disaster.

The policy of cowardly democrats leads to the slow extermination of Ukraine and Ukrainians. The protection of the EU countries is achieved through the daily sacrifice of Ukrainians to the Russian orcs.
I hope the Republicans win the next election. I don't see any other way.

This banner, displayed in Tambov/russia shows the old soviet union plus the former Warsaw Pact countries, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Finland, Mongolia and Alaska as part of a unified Russia, under the slogan:

"We will teach you to love the Motherland".

Slogan valid for Alaska, too!!!

Well done, russia, well done!  ::)

Well said.

As I watched the horror and devastation in Maui Hawaii this week, I realized that this could happen now anywhere in the world. That's the scary part.

50/50. I think we should and can do both.

A lot has been said on another thread about stopping our reliance on fossil fuels (and that is crucial) - but this is also worth watching about how to remove carbon from our atmosphere and waters:
