I've assembled as series of clips using Windows Movie Maker. When I burn a DVD of it, it plays fine in my computer but isn't recognized by my television's DVD player. Do any of you have any suggestions of what software (PC) will convert it into the multiple directory format needed for television playback?

I think you are best served by getting a real video editing program and doing it in there. Adobe Premiere Elements works well for a fair price. From what I remember that Windows Movie Maker pretty wonky and really doesn't transport well to anything.

Agreed... use Adobe Premiere Elements but you'll also need Adobe Encore DVD to master it to play on a television set. Keep that in mind when you're researching it. You can download a trial version which is a full version that works for 30 days, if you just have one project... just a thought...

My fervent hope is that you do your homework on this... its easy to try to get some free download but video is a whole different can of worms than still images... much more complicated for your computer, much more storage, etc., I heartily recommend the Adobe Professional Video products which I use myself.

Yes forgot about the cutting to DVD part. Sorry. Been 2 years since I really played with video for home playback.
I cut some wedding DVDs of video combined with stills using Roxio Easy Media Creator. I still have old version 7 and it worked well for home use. And not a lot of money. Played on every DVD player we tried it on and the wedding client really liked it.
