We should use better threads' titles� (myself included)

I find that often the titles of the threads are not very descriptive of the thread's content itself.

As we all try to put good titles and good descriptions for the images we upload on microstock sites I think that we should do the same effort for the threads' titles.

I'm sure this would make the consultation of the forum easier and more enjoyable

I was thinking, for example that when the thread is about a particular site, to indicate the name of the site in the title.
I know that the thread should be opened in the section related to the site, but is is faster to read the name of the site (Fotolia, Shutterstock, etc) if it is written (bigger) in the title.
And probably it could help a lot for a search.
And I am not sure that the title of the sections are indexed by the search engines, so it will help in these cases too.

So this isnt about the confusing thread titles, but about you being confused as in to which category the thread is posted?

Why would we have to add the agency name to a thread opened in the section of that same agency?

If you check the homepage where all the threads are listed, the name of the agency is posted right under the thread title.

Same goes for:
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

^ I just find it more immediately readable if it is in the title that written more little, and in italic, in the line under or the line upper.
Generally I use "Show unread posts since last visit" and I click on titles to open them in a new tab, and I don't find easy to have to read two lines for any subject to understand to which category it belongs.

I find (visually) more efficient and understandable a title like
"Sales in Fotolia" than a title
"Sales"
"Started by xxxxxxxxx in Fotolia"

Maybe just a question of personal  taste, for this I was asking, but you are the only one to answer here

And I still think that with the use of search engines it could help a lot, as I am not sure that the forum categories are indexed by search engines (but I am not sure).

I'm with Beppe on this one.  I find it irritating when people start threads with titles like: 
"I was just wondering....", or similar. 

If you want people to bother reading your thread, you should give some clue as to what it's about.  Most of us learned it's important to have a title relevant to the subject by about 4th grade.

But thats a completely different example than what Beppe posted. If I say, Can someone please switch on my port, in the CanStockPhoto forum, its quite obvious to me what its about and on what agency.

In your example its not clear what the topic is about. However, your example as thread title, is intriguing enough to check it out.
