Sorry, but I don't miss him in the least.  I had to endure him for far too long on the Shutterstock forums before the guys in charge finally cried "enough".  I know society frowns on speaking ill of the dead, but that doesn't mean we have to endure a whitewash.

Well I found him entertaining. Maybe I am weird  ::)

A saint? Hardly...but that fact that a man suffering from a terminal illness had the energy to pursue his photography AND come on these forums at all speaks volumes as to the kind of person that he was.

I can only pray that if I were in the same boat, that I could manage as much, but I doubt it.

May he rest in peace.

I have to admit that the Miz could be extremely contraversial but he so often made me laugh.  He was like a naughty child pushing to see how far he could go with out getting punished.  Yes I do miss him being around.

He was no saint and most of the time I didn't get his humor but every now and then he posted something interesting and I miss those posts.  Most of all, I miss seeing his new photos on the sites.

Ok maybe sainthood is not in the works..  but a great character. It's just strange coming across his old posts now and then, and knowing all that energy is gone.

Hundred years from now, microstock, all our images and we ourselves will - if lucky - just be a footnote in history.

I think of him a lot.  Me and Bob talked just about daily, over yahoo IM.  His friend that inherited his computer logs onto yahoo messager sometimes, and it freaks me out.  Miz is alive?  It makes me do a double take every time.  I need to remove him from my buddy list.

I always found him very entertaining, whether I agreed with him or not.  And yes,  I do miss the lively and controversial discussions he started.

Although Shank has made some attempt to carry the torch of wacky musings forward.  Haven't heard much from shank lately since he was allowed back on istock though.

I get the same feeling when somebody drags up a really old thread on DT and I start reading without realizing that it's old and come across a Miz post.  There have even been newbies answering points that Miz made. Freaky.

I'm pretty sure his ban was permanent.

You should have told the friend to extend his domain registration on unnaturalphotos. There were great tutorials on it. Now it expired and a domain shark got hold of it. He had a comment section too, with valuable input. That's all gone. We must all die but at least we can live on in cyberspace. For now, all that's left is the fantom on the waybackmachine. Most content is unavailable since you had to register.

I personally valued the tutorials of theMiz a lot. If something productive has to come out of all this, and before it's too late, somebody should get hold of his PC, copy at least the tutorials from it, and put them back online.

Oh my gosh, I missed it. The Miz died? What happened?

I never interacted personally with him, but read his posts most of the time. Sometimes I laughed, sometimes I scratched my head and said what the f--- is he talking about. I'm sorry to see him go.

edit: I just did a search over on the DT forums and learned he passed away last October from cancer. I can't believe I only stumbled on the news today! I must be living in a freakin hole or something! Sad news.

So many times, back before the day of the "ignore button" I wished for an ignore button for him.  Now, I can't say how many times I've read something here and thought "Oh man, would the Miz ever start a riot with this one."  He was kindof like a prof I had.  We butted heads.  Argued all the time.  I thought he was a first class A*-hole.  At the end of the term I got the best mark I've ever had, rightfully so because of how much I progressed that term.  Funny thing about remembering Miz was his voice-overs on those tutorials.  For some reason I hear his voice sometimes when some topic comes up here that reminds me of him.  Didn't even know the guy, but his legend lives on.

'Disorderly' says he had to 'endure' Miz's posts for far too long and is not missing him a bit. And I wonder, who forced 'Disorderly' to read those posts anyway?
Don't like them?
That's an easy one... don't read them!
The man is dead anyway, what's the point in trashing him now?
'Pixelart' was on a constant look out for an ignore button. Ignore TheMiz? And be left with what?
Some people found Miz entertaining. Others thought he was controversial.

I loved his posts.
I thought he was interesting and intelligent, creative and different. It showed in his portfolio too. Something else, TheMiz was something else.
Brighter.
Count me in. He was the reason I joined this forum in the first place and I miss him a lot.
RIP Miz.

He passed away due to lung cancer.  Here is the original thread

Miz=lmao i was just a newbie when i read his stuff here, and i never had it so good.
the thing about Miz was he was verbose, but never personally insulting. he can take it as well as he  dished it. i remember too, once writing him personally to tell him how hilariously anal he was , and he wrote me a nice anally thank you note.
shank is the same, i think he does well.  i don't see much of him nowadays. pity.
