For me its a matter of inertia and friction. The liquid fuel which I am currently imbibing (ie: coffee) has not yet reached a level at which it can overcome the resistive forces holding my posterior in a stationary position. Add to that, the climatological factor of an overcast, lightly precipitive diurnal time period substantially increases the level of entropy.
Hmmm? Maybe I should try some Pop Tarts.

Good question! I'm at the computer most of the day. I work from home so I can't walk around the corner to the next cubicle and chat with coworkers. I come here and a few other places to take my little coffee breaks!
Yes, for the amount of time I have spent here, I could have taken a LOT of photos.... but you can't really just take a 5 minute break to take a photo, can you? First you have to (at my house) clear the toys out of your shooting area, set up, polish up any objects you might shoot, meter the lights, take photos, make the adjustments, do it again for a new shot then put everything away so the kids don't wreck it.
I know, I beat myself up for the time I waste, but it's unrealistic for me to say "I could have used that 15 minutes shooting!" when I really need an hour. But then again, it's not really a waste of time because places like this are the most educating!

same as pixart...
I work from home and have not co-workers so this provides a nice little 'water cooler' area for me to take a break.
Also, when i get up and eat my breakfast I like to check up on the latest news (on the web), check out the blogs I follow, check my emails, check my microstock earnings from the day before, and check the recent posts here. It is in my morning ritual :)

From time to time I have a look on my personnal stats on this site (click on your profile and then on Show stats).
This morning it says Total time spent online: 5days 28 min.
That's a lot of 5 min coffee breaks! ;)

I, unfortunately, do have a "real" (as in "real pain in the you-know-what") job. It is one of those jobs where they believe if you have enough time for eating and sleeping, you have too much time on your hands and should be at work, so they throw in some mandatory overtime - like they did last week. Hence the reason for the inertia this morning. 8) Notice the dark glasses there? They are to cover the dark circles under my eyes. Once this coffee kicks in, I'll get my keester out of this chair and do something, maybe even take a few shots. The snow this morning has set up a shot I've been wanting to take for a while now and the temp is 20 degrees warmer than it was yesterday morning meaning I won't suffer from hypothermia while outside.
As for morning ritual, I'd say mine is similar to Leaf's. Just a lot longer this morning.
I will say this, I do appreciate this site. I've learned quite a bit by reading the posts, especially about what the various agencies expect. You can thank FlemishDreams for mentioning it at the GS forum. Or rather, I guess I can thank him for pointing at least one lost soul in the right direction.

Waiting for UPS to come with my work for the day job. Usually I read and write in the wee hours, after I get off my second job.
Confined space in this one room office, so if I get everything out, set the lighting, to start shooting, then editing and uploading, it will be time to go to work again, and I won't have anything done. ;D
It's dark and gray outside, storm blowing in, sub-zero Temps. One more reason to be inside and comfortable, not out shooting.
There's not much on TV worth watching... seldom is, and I don't have any DVDs that I haven't watched lately, or tapes from the last week.
So reading forums is a nice diversion, and sometimes educational.
I could be reading a book? ;)

Lazy. :)

total time - 6 days, 12 hours and 56 minutes - and loving every minute of it!!
And I rarely watch TV anymore so thats a fair trade off.

TV is SOOOoooooo 1900's

My hubby and I are preparing to sell our house and move to the mountains. This means most of my studio is all packed up. :( When I'm not at work or taking a peak at these forums I'm doing home repairs and painting. Ick! I can't wait until this is all over and I can unpack the studio again and get back to shooting.

Right on ... I hope the move and new locale work out even better than you hope!

Thanks Sharply! The scenery will certainly be an improvement! ;D

:) I cant remember the last I actually watched tv (as opposed to a dvd). I can quote probably every disney or pixar movie, and pick the voices excellent as my kids have them on while I am photoshopping etc. But I couldn't name a single big hit series at the moment.
Even then my kids dont watch "tv" as such, if not a dvd, there on the net or off doing other things.

But I couldn't name a single big hit series at the moment.
NFL, but the season finale is this weekend and there's nothing much else on TV until about September. ;)
I watched the whole Prisoner series again, last month. That's about the size of it. I do most of my editing/uploading from 11pm until 3 or 4am.
Shoot on weekends. Stock was supposed to fill in the time from November until April. No racing until April.

I couldn't agree with you more, Rusty. And "The Prisoner"? Man, haven't watched that in a looooong time. Gotta love ol' no. 6 though. Now you got me thinking about watching it again. Gee, thanks, another weekend lost to classic BBC. ;)

I sit at my desk most of the day and wait for people to come in and give me information or ask me for information, so I have free time in between to learn about MS here. I really enjoy hearing from other contributors away from the MS Site forums where everyone is like "I love (insert MS Agency here). They are the best!" and they only say it because they think the reviewers have a spare second to read the forums AND match that comment up with the THOUSANDS of images they see each day.
Needless to say, I am not a big fan of MS Site forums, but here we can discuss the trends and sites openly. It works out much better for me and I think is time well spent when I CAN'T be shooting. ;D
