Title: Is Panther's Uploading System Down?
Post by: Cricket on February 10, 2013, 13:26
Hi All,

I FTPed 10 files to Panther yesterday (Saturday) and they are not getting imported into my account.  I tried uploading them again and the same problem.  I then tried uploading them via the browser method which can only upload 5 files at a time and those are not showing up either.

Anyone else experiencing any difficulties?

Yes, I am experiencing the same problem. I sent an email to support about this.  Weird...a few of us are having similar problems with Pond5 as well.

Maybe you can ask them if their 'Sales' System is down as well  ???

In the last three months, Panther has started to work a bit better for me. Two 50,95, one 15,25 and several between 0,69 and 4,00 euro sales. And that is only with 493 files. I find their uploading process a little tedious when it works. I don't like having to fill in the most important 8 keywords as it takes a lot of time. But I guess, it could be worthwhile to upload some more.

Yep uploaded 3 today. Didn't show up when ready to edit. A picture from yesterday was corrupted.

Hi Everyone  :)

I contacted Panther today (February 11) and received a response from a member of their technical support team that the problem had been fixed.  They advised me to reupload the files again.

Well, I did that today and I was only able to import 4 of the 10 files that I uploaded... the other 6 had an error message. I tried uploading the 6 files again and got the same error message..... "There was an error saving the file into the database" which is the same error message I received on February 9th, .... so apparently the problem they are having with their uploading process has not been resolved.  :(

Hi Everyone  :)

Are the rest of you still experiencing FTP problems with Panther?

I got back a response this morning from Panther about my support ticket from yesterday.  Their response was this...

"Our computer scientists checked this yesterday and the FTP upload works fine here. So please try it once again."

Well, I tried today and I am still getting the same problems as I did on February 9th, February 10, February 11... etc.

So... apparently... their computer "scientists" ;D --- are bunch of morons.

Hi Cricket,

our support colleagues are not native english speakers, so please excuse the wording.

After consulting our IT guys, they told me that there was a problem when importing files from FTP with extremely long file names. We have fixed that bug and it should work now. If you encounter other problems upon importing files from FTP into the system, please let us know with an exact problem description / error message including the image number or files that did not work. Our "morons" will then check the problem.

Best regards,

Robert
