Yep! just joined and uploaded here and some of my best stuff that has sold in thousands. Its like uploading to the Getty-Portal, nice structure, nice interface. Anybody with any experience here?
I mean nice experience, dont want to hear the usual glib, just something else?

I joined a couple of years ago, but never really uploaded there. I recently started to upload. They take ages to review, but not a big issue really. They are excellent in replying to emails. They accept about 80 percent of my stuff, but still not sent them much yet. Will start soon. I had first sale recently, subscription sale of 30 cents. They rejected some editorial photos of tennis player Ana Ivanovic, because they require a property release. The tournament was indoors. I find that strange as these images are on every site I submit to which allow editorial images.

Nice! Tennis, my favorite sport! well you should try again, their new portal seams effective, reminds me of the Getty portal in fact.

i'm there since 2008 mainly illustrations but never bothered to upload all my stuff until recently when the upload process was more user friendly. like any other microstock site, sales activity is triggered with regular uploading and i've experienced that during the past few weeks. review is relatively long than most but i have a high acceptance rate.

my experience is relatively small but I had a few 8/15 EUR sales.. the main problem is their upload that could be a lot faster and less boring but I guess that´s the midstock size

Well I do find their uploading a lot better then some others actually, a bit long winded but very intricate.

you need like 6 or 7 clicks (and not talking if you need MR) ok you have the option to keyword a few but it is still boring!!

A few of my editorials with recognizable people in them was rejected by PM, but they gave no reason for the rejection. So I was asking myself why they were rejected.
Then I was reading about that problem in the topic about Zoonar here on MSG recently.

According to the German law they have to ask for a model- or propertyrelease, even when the image is editorial.

Perhaps PM (and Zoonar) should do better to place a message to the buyer under this type of images: “Cannot be purchased for use in Germany for this image has no model- or property release .” Otherwise they miss a part of the market.
Even photojournalists working for newspapers must have releases then?
How do newspapers and magazines in Germany get photos of celebrities and sports published when this is true?

This is not true. We have many editorial photos without release online at Zoonar. But you cannot sell them with RF-Licence. And you need to make a true release statement like "model release not available" or "property release not available". If you say "not necessary" we have to delete the photo, because with that statement you offer the editorial photo for merchandise using. This is really not allowed in germany...
There are also some objects that cannot sell in germany as editorial as good as in other countries. Like one single woman or one single man in public without model release. The photo must have an "public interest" for an editorial using. So if you made a photo from your naked neighbour in the garden you cannot sell this photo in germany...

Well I have uploaded shots that have sold in tens of thousands, really. Just wondering when they get around to edit? last thing I want is another VEER, where you end up seven foot under before its done.
Just havent got the time for that.

My apologies. You are right and I need to do a better reading!

You say that editorials can only be sold as RM, but at all the other agencies there are hundreds of thousands of images with recognizable people, brands etc. in them and they are all RF. In fact the photographer is not allowed to make changes to the image. But they have to be marked as editorial only. And they must have a clear description and a date. In that way it is only allowed to use the image for news- or educational purposes. Does it matter that it is sold as RF when commercial use is forbidden?
When an image is unchanged and clearly is marked as editorial, it is the buyers responsibility to not use this image commercially. Not the photographer or the agency. The only thing is that the agency has a better control about what is happening with the images with RM.
Or do I miss something?
By the way: my nabour is 80 years old and a good man. Even if he is going to do so, I would not even think about it to make an image of him. Not to say to publish it and doing him harm in any way… ;)
