Title: News: PantherMedia expands Picture Editing Department
Post by: Team PantherMedia on May 06, 2009, 05:55
Hello,

PantherMedia has been criticized sometimes in the past weeks that the approval time for newly uploaded images was too long. The main reason for this backlog had been the fact that many, many more contributors have uploaded many, many more images, and continue to do so, thanks also to our cooperation with ProStockMaster. We tried to be as responsive about this as possible.

We listened to your wishes and suggestions and are happy to announce that with the beginning of May:

PantherMedia expands its Picture Editing Department (http://blog.panthermedia.net/2009/05/04/panthermedia-expands-picture-editing-department/?langswitch_lang=en)

We are working on approving your images - with all thoroughness - as fast and efficient as possible. The backlog should belong to the past very soon.  ;)

All the best,
Your PantherMedia Team,
Andy

just curious, i wonder how many of those images are from IS? if so, would any of you care to comment on how you would be different in terms of contributors' incentive. at this volatile moment, i am sure many of us are looking elsewhere.

@tan510jomast:

There are basically two possibilities regarding single image sales:

1.
If you offer your uploaded images also at lower-priced agencies, then your commission share for this image is at least 30%. Depending on the number of successfully submitted images, your commission share can increase to up to 40%.

2.
If you offer your uploaded images only at PantherMedia or equal or higher-priced agencies, then your commission share for this image is at least 50%. Depending on the number of successfully submitted images, your commission share can increase to up to 60%.

You can find all the details about this here:

http://www.panthermedia.net/index2.php?page=cms%2Fpages%2Fdisplay2.php&cms_id=581

3.
Talking about subscription, you will always receive 50% commission share.

PantherMedia has decided to share the revenue from the image subscription with our contributors at a commission share of 50%. This includes the revenues from unused credits. This provides not only transparency in the commission scheme, but also fairness towards the contributor.

PantherMedia always transfers the contributor 50% of the consumed subscription credits (of his images) to his "subscription account." All credits from each month are accumulated there. At the end of each month, the actual monthly value of a credit is calculated. This means: calculated is the complete revenue from the subscription model compared to all downloaded subscription images per month. This is the “monthly value" of a credit. This is at least 0,22 EUR/USD per credit. But this really only if EVERY customer would download ALL images EVERY day. In reality this will rarely or not happen and you can assume that the actual value is much higher than this minimum value. Again, this starts at minimal 0,22 EUR/USD per credit, but it can go up to more than 1 EUR/USD per credit.

Please find some examplary calculations and more details here:

Regarding your other question, I´m sorry for the fact that we can´t share how many of these images are from iS.

All the best,
Your PantherMedia Team,
Andy
