Title: Panthermedia Vectors?
Post by: fiftyfootelvis on May 31, 2013, 08:24
Anybody making any money from Panthermedia? I never got many sales but I see they are now accepting eps vector files. Wondering if it's worth trying.

Yeah, got the newsletter.

And also a subscription commission cut too:

"Compared to international stock agencies, we have offered a much higher payout per download than our copmetitors while offering the same or smaller end customer prices. We cannot keep up this offer on the long run. While we are thinking about new and competitive subscription packages, we have to adjust our commission schedule to international standards. "

In other words...unsustainable!

But if the subscriptions do not count for vectors, then I might give it a try, even though their sales are very low.

I made around €50-100 /month with 2,300 files, of which 5-10€ was for subscriptions. I won't miss that little cash, so I just opted out of subscription licenses as well as of extended, since they will sell "Social Media" licenses that include the right to share the images across fb, g+, twitter et al.
Bad moves from PM methinks.
I'll upload the dozen of vectors I have, though.

They want data embedded in the eps file not in a jpeg uploaded with it, it isn't worth the time to get this done just for Panthermedia. I will wait until they decide to come into line with what the rest of the sites are doing.

I emailed them if I could upload them quickly, but as they don't have a decent uploading system yet which takes IPTC data from the JPEG, I'm not going to bother.
