Ladies and Gents,

I would appreciate your opinions please. I'm not submitting the image in question (not entirely happy with the composition) but would like a view on the quality of the image. Is it sharp enough? Is it free from noise? I think it is - but want to be sure my checks at 100% are right and my JPEG's are turning out okay. Also, any comment on colour etc would be gratefully appreciated.

Give us a 100% crop if you want tech quality. But it sure looks promising.

There is imnho plenty of chroma noise

I took a screen shot and was going to post what i'd do but pshop just crashed right as I was about to save

oh well had only couple spent of minutes

anyway I did

lightly painted in some noise ninja in a few spots
little perspective widening at top,
replaced the red wall with a dark green
trimmed some off the bottom and a little bit on the left and right along the rule of thirds
some light dodge and burn on the leaf that wouldn't sit how you wanted it

and the spot now green (that was red) just above it
tiny bit more sharpening / local contrast / detail enhancement (whatever you want to call it) on the big leaf in the centre and a few other leafy spots with water (but I wasnt real convinced on this anyway)

would have happily submitted that

hey there, RedDove, hi...

i like the exposure and lighting. nice touch on the water droplets.
only thing that (bothers) me is the reddish shadow. it might be trouble ...

maybe you could selectively de saturate the shadows and get it nice and neutral
so it doesn't gain too much attention,as it is now.

reason why i point this out is that unfortunately,
red/green causes an optical illusion , like yellow/ purple,
it makes the adjacent colours jump back and forth.

in graphics this is used for grabbing the eye. but for your case, it can
lead the eye to where it can cause trouble.
i would get the shadows back down to a low saturation so it recedes into the background and let the green draw the eye .

hope i explained it well enough to make sense.

Phil - your time and effort is much appreciated. Very useful and very kind of you. I need to buy Ninja I reckon.

Magnum - I will try and upload a 100% crop tomorrow - it's past midnight here and I'm knackered.

Michaelo - I appreciate your honest opinion.

Perseu - Again, thanks for your advice, I had a feeling the wall behind the vines would give me a problem. I tried to move the leaves to cover it up but no go, didn't have any gaffer tape in my bag
