Title: Newby is looking for critiques on images
Post by: hutchgraphics on February 11, 2011, 14:07
I am new to the world of microstock but not photography.  I am looking for insight from others as to the saleability and usefulness of the images I've posted on the stock gallery on my own website.  I've picked out 24 from a fairly large library of images.  If anyone has the time and would like to offer their critiques I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

The colors really pop!  Good job!  We would love to see these at Cutcaster.com.

I love your photos! It is always possible to find issues with anything (like; is there too much sharpening on the haybale, and is the focus perfect on the pumpkins (?)). But honestly; upload and see. It might be an idea to include some of your excellent people shots in the applications for approval on IS and SS.

I'm thinking that's a positive thing yes?  Thanks for taking the time to review.

Love your site.  How did you build it if you can share?  There's been a lot of talk around here about building our own galleries/Smugmug/KTools etc.  and yours is lovely.

Thanks for all the nice comments from the previous posts and taking your time to review the photos. ;D

I built my site on Zenfolio mainly because I wanted to be able to sell prints for events, etc. online and I wanted to be able to manage the look and have full control.  It was pretty easy to put together actually.  I previously had a gallery style website designed by an agency which I liked the look and function of but it was not easy at all to change and re-building it to accommodate on-line ordering wasn't in the cards or the budget.

With my workflow it's easy to upload files right from lightroom, change the look of the site, apply watermarks, change layout, colors, etc.  So far, after about two years, it has proven to be a great decision.
