This photo was accepted by some and rejected by one.

Is it a stock marketable shot?

"School children on a class outing with their teachers."

I thanks you for your comments, good or bad.

Thanks!!

Assuming its technically okay at 100% and fully model-released i would accept it. Without Modelreleases only as editorial. Personally i find it a little bit boring but i can see some usage in it.

Okay, honestly, by my opinion, technically ok, but I didn't see the class and teachers when I saw the image. It's usually more children in a class and in this surrounding I didn't expect them to have any connection with school. They also don't have any of school equipment. It would be much better if I could just look at the picture and see at once that they are pupils.
But I don't know if I would accept it because I never had a chance too look at more of images of this kind to compare them.

Agree with Whitechild, but I think the composition could be changed a little.
Maybe crop the left side some.

if I would be picky, I would notice these:

- the iron pipe on the right disturbs me. Crop before it or clone it somehow and make the chain longer.
- the leaves are somewhat underexposed
- i would put some extra contrast on the ground and the stone pillars. adjustment layer - curves, drag down, create layer mask, invert it, then paint with the white brush and opacity as you like to make that contrast in a specific area
- i would also remove the fence in the right side, the one seen between pillars

other than that, this is not the most lively photo. The kids don't look happy and the teacher looks darn bored.

But again, I am not THAT picky :)

Hi Larry,

I'm sorry but I can already say I wouldn't for compositional reasons.
Why are the people walking out of the image? I guess you have their backs to the camera to avoid MR hassel, but then I'd think the image would be better if the people where down in the right hand corner, on their way into the image. Or turned around, on their way towards the camera so we could see the smiles and "oh how fun a field trip they are having."
I'd imagine most people pictures that sell well are ones with faces on, people relate to faces, and emotions expressed by faces can help sell a product. I see no sensation in this image, but faces could change that, and add a feeling, mood or emotion. I don't know if they are on their way on a trip and are having fun or if they are leaving some dull museum and are tired and can't wait to get home...
I'm not sure what commercial use could be put to this photo, some of the inspectors liked it though, that should be good enough :)

best regards

The photo almosts reach the category of snapshot. Theme is interesting, composition is quite weak, color seems a bit oversatuarated. Could pass, but never without models releases (for RF).

NO.

1. Having said that: would definately want a model release.
2. The blue and red curves seem overworked.
3. YES IF, you cropped it to the point where the sunlight begins, the pier to the right, and the top of the pergola.

Compositionally it worries me that the kids are walking into an area I cannot see. If there was more room between the kid on the far left and where they were walking would be a great shot.
