Suitable for microstock?

(1/1)

madelaide:
I have seen a lot of rapeseed-flowers-against-blue-sky photos in microstock sites, but I took this one during my trip and I wonder if it fits the microstock world (StockXpert rejected it for the "we're not looking for..." reason).  Maybe it's more suitable for posters?

yingyang0:
well it's the kind of photo I take and submit, but then again I only shoot and submit what I like. I think it would sell, not a top seller, but still sell.

Bateleur:
It's got a different angle from the thousands of usual 'rapeseed-flowers-against-the-blue-sky' pictures which is a good point.

And, every buyer has different needs. So I agree with yingyang ... it'll probably sell, not brilliantly, but moderately well.

The thing with stock photography is that you never know what the buyer wants. And very often the buyer doesn't know either ... until s/he sees it.   :)

Pixart:
I think there is use for it, but it will not be a big seller, but should generate maybe 20 sales per agricultural season over a few sites.  Like this flax pic:   Nothing extraordinary, but useful for agricultural purposes.  I notice the agricultural photos sell in spring planting season mostly.

And... me too, I just put up a canola against blue sky last month and it has sold a handful of times so I think that angle is also useful.

You can likely add background to your keywords in this photo case.

Thanks for your replies.  FT also rejected it.  :(
