Tell me your honest opinion on these photos..

These 1st three are still pending on all other stock sites except this one where they were accepted.

These were all rejected by Fotolia...can you see the reason why??

I'd say too much white space on the first two.  The third and fourth look like zoo snapshots.  The monkey gets lost among the rocks.  Can't tell what the fifth is, and the white balance looks off in the sixth.  Too much blue in the grass.

I would not take these if I had a stockagency already filled with 6 milion similarities.  Its like any touristshots . Centric composition on all of them.  Quality may be great though, but doesnt matter.

I agree with this. The only one that I might accept is the fifth but as I don't know what it is I can't judge whether it has  LCV.

These guys want to discourage you. My advice is:
Don't pay too much attention at FT rejections. If FT doesn't want to sell your photos, other agencies WILL sell them. Fotolia rejects most of my images lately because my photos didn't reach aesthetic quality. I guess they can't find real technical reason for rejection, so they have to putt something as reason for rejection.
Work on your technique, improve your skills. Find articles on internet about composition and white ballance, and upload to FT everything you make. If they reject 80% of your images, don't worry, just focus on other agencies.

I don't want to discourage anybody.  Just being realistic, whatever the quality they mostly aren't good stock images.   I wouldn't mind betting that most of them  get very few sales on the sites where they are accepted. The OP has the ability to produce a decent photo but needs to work a bit on sellability.
I think that it's well worth spending a bit of time working out what kind of images that FT do want as they have been the best earning agency for me for the last few months.

1 & 2 boot design copyright / trademark
3 shadows, bird butt, not interesting? Too many like this?
4 monkey is brown on brown, Copyright Zoo photo?
5 can't tell, looks soft. (might be wrong) how many paint sprayers isolated on white, do they have?  ;D
6 Got me? Aside from what others said about possible color balance, looks passable.

Didn't they give you reasons?

It's hard to tell from small shots if there's a focus issue or something else that I can't see.

Same here .Ever heard of constructive critiqe Whitechild ???  The focus is too much about volume these days. Its better having 500 good images than 10000 of things anyone can shoot.

@Magnum and Fotographer,
This guy need really constructive critique, not just "your photos suck". Constructive critique is when someone tells you what's wrong, and then tries to help you solve it. Give him some good advice, and encourage him to continue. He is obviously already frustrated because his photos were rejected. All he wants is to get his photos accepted at Fotolia, but he doesn't understand what's wrong with his photos. So, critique like "Your photos look like snapshots" sounds bit humiliating. If I was in his place, I would already think I have to sell my camera because everyone laughs at my photos.
Remember when you started submitting your work? ...I remember when I started...
So, donding, find articles about composition. Reading them should give you some knowledge about where you should put objects when you make pictures. Fnd find articles about white balance. I see that almost all your images (except monkey and a bird) look blueish. Look at the grass at the image with a bird, and look at the grass on the image with a bull. See how blue is grass in the last image?
And again, don't worry about Fotolia's rejections. Do you see how many threads on different forums talk about this?

I agree with the others.  Here, several people have agreed on problems with these.  We've pointed them out.  You can take the initiative to go out and research a bit to find how to fix the problems, or not.

Donding - how well are these selling at the sites that accepted them?

Ok, you won... ;)
But my opinion is still that Fotolia's rejections can't be taken seriously. I don't trust in their consistency as I trust in IS consistency of rejections. If I'm not right, there wouldn't be so many threads about silly rejections of Fotolia.
So, I would never take FT rejections seriously and I would never count it as relevant site to help me understand what's wrong with my photos.

I think your last 2 shots are definately your best ones. I agree with whitechild and the others at the same time. I think FT are pathetic in there reasons for rejection and all the threads by so many people on here show that. Looking at the images though I do agree the first 2 isolations needed to be a bit closer and the pink boots look a bit dirty. The first animal shot you could just tell FT would reject as they reject much better shots than that one.

Dont be discouraged if they have been accepted elsewhere then be happy that they are up for sale somewhere and havnt just been rejected by all agencies. I think we all get puzzled at some point when FT reject certain images. They are not bad images at all just obviously not what FT want so move on and keep shooting :)

I have no problem to say when I was wrong. I think it's a good personal characteristic. The guy wanted just our honest opinion. But I also think some things could be said in a nicer way. Imagine you and him sitting together in a restaurant talking about his photos. I am sure you would criticize his photos in other way. You would probably say: "Oh...maybe you could crop this image a bit different, so this monkey is not in the center" instead of "The third and fourth look like zoo snapshots"

Whitechild, cudos to you. Admitting wrong is a great characteristic trait.
You are right we have to tell people in a kind way what they can do different. While I am sure he has some good ability to shoot images, and these images are not bad at all, they are not the kind of images which earn you back what you invested in time and effort to shoot, keyword, submit and categorize them no matter how you crop them. I myself fell victim to shoot whatever you find and try to sell it as stock. It simply is not worth your time and effort, the time of the reviewer and the time of the buyer to search trough all that stuff. I am gradually starting deleting this kind of images. (Admitted many are much worse then the once in this thread).
So I do agree with the others. Don't take it personally, but accept it as a challenge donding.

I though I was pretty kind.  It guess It sounded awful when you read it, while sitting on your pink cloud  ;)

Its easy to be missjudged in a forum.  Sjocke for example. He always sounds grumpy. I bet hes laughing all the time. ( I would with sales like that :D)

:) . Seriously, I'm not grumpy, I just cut to the chase.  Too much other stuff to do to be all flowery.

Yes, I sit on a pink cloud, and all around me are flowers :) There are many people with me here.
I invite all you to join me. Things are much nicer here, where people are not so greedy and ironic. ;)

And yes, it's easy to be misjudged in the forum....but not if you chose your words. You can always express your positivity, if there is one inside you. You will agree I'm right

I definitely agree that you are one of the nicest men that I have come across on this or any other forum and you are perfectly right that saying something nice to lighten the blow is a much kinder thing to do.  I sometimes because of time just snap off a reply without thinking that it is an actual person with feelings on the other end, I would never do that in real life :)

Thank you for the compliment. I know you are a nice person too. Otherwise you would never write what you just wrote. I didn't say I never do the same thing. We are all human. Internet is a place where people don't think much about other people feelings. In real life, things are different...
Hey! We are discussing here about donding images, and he didn't say a single word!  :D He just posted images and disappeared :D

aw whitechild, you are right BUT...  not all of us here in this forum were well educated . many of us are "maleducado" and we only know how to cut to the chase.
we are loud mouth photographers, or non photographers; not diplomats . we're crude and lack social skills , that's why we hide in our cocoon to make sellable stock photos. we don't need to have social skills. if we ever said one nice word, we would get a cardiac arrest  ;D
