Title: BE CAREFUL - Sale-point and I-store-online.com
Post by: PZF on November 18, 2013, 04:06
See http://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=27201. (http://www.mu-43.com/showthread.php?t=27201.)

Mine is the last comment, but basically I have heard nothing, they have my money and Paypal aren't interested and/or are unable to help! Fortunately, mine was only a small order and I knew I was taking a bit of a risk. But if you are looking to spend real money, best avoid in my opinion!

(PS - hope this isn't against forum rule, but thought it useful to spread the word).

Did you pay with PayPal? Or didnt you buy anything? If you paid for the item using PayPal and you didnt get it, you can open a case, and PayPal will help you.

If you are just reporting a scam to PayPal, they need proof, police reports, etc and all they might do is close the sellers PayPal account, they cant force him to take down their website.

Hi - I tried reporting it to Paypal via their system but just got a long standard email back (in Italian, because I'm currently in Italy and there is no way to get back onto Paypal UK) which basically seemed to say they could do nothing and to contact the vendor (who is ignoring emails now).

I wanted to contact a Paypal person in English but could find no way to do so. If you have a contact email who speaks my language, I' be very grateful!

It was only a small sum of money, but I wouldn't mind getting it back!

Plus, I'd like Paypal to know so that they can maybe stop other people having similar problems.

Cheers!

In your PayPal account, go to the resolution centre and find the transaction and then open a case. You want to open an INR case, item not received. PayPal will respond in your language if its a UK account.

Sadly this isn't so. I filled in the form, I got the standard Italian letter saying to phone them and no case appears as recorded in my account.

I wrote again, asking to speak to somebody in English, and got that same Italian email back.

I'm really not keen to phone in Italian but I guess if push comes to shove it may be worth a try....

?

When was the transaction done? If its longer then 45 days, you cant open a case

Thanks for help though!

Bummer

I can only say, next time when this happens, open a dispute after 44 days, that will give you another 20 days. A dispute is not a claim, you will just communicate with the seller through the PayPal system. If you dont find a solution with the seller then, you can upgrade to a claim, after say, 19 days. Then the seller has 10 days to provide proof, if they cant/wont/dont they will lose the case and you will get the money back. So in theory, you can open a case after 44 days and drag it out to 73 days.

Thanks for that. I delayed because at that stage they were saying they were looking into the item 'lost in the post'. Which could have been the case!
Anyway, hope a few people read it here and are warned!!!
Thanks again.

I would NEVER use anything but my credit card for an INITIAL purchase like this.  Someone you may have been shooting the 70's, 80's when big box stores like Honest Abes, B&H, and a few others were heavily influencing the world of still and video purchasing.  They, however, were never trusted, ripped people off and were considered VERY SHADY (no pun on Shadysue).  I had an experience where they shipped me a bunch of stuff I didn't order (which they were known to do) and returning the items was essentially a major activity and pain in the ass.  It was these experiences that taught me to ALWAYS use my credit card because I could just make a phone call to the credit card company and poke back at the company with a sharp stick.  Since then, they have really cleaned up their act (probably due to changes in retailer laws [deceiving business practices] and consumer protection, and I shop almost exclusively at B&H now. I know that where you live poses a challenge sometimes and that sucks.
