SLR window shopping

(1/1)

DallasP:
I was just kind of window shopping some SLR cameras on Ebay and noticed that the T3i and D3200 cameras have dropped pretty significantly in price since the last time I got curious.

I doubt I would be shooting much for microstock but, more for my own collection, family, friends and the like ... Is there any reason not to jump on say http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nikon-D3200-Camera-Kit-w-AF-S-VR-DX-18-55mm-lens-L-/291345854093?pt=Digital_Cameras&hash=item43d590ee8d or one of the others that include a lens?

The Nikon "Entry Level" cameras are very good and if it has the features you need great value.

Between those two models, you might want to go with t3i 600D as they called in Europe. It have some cool features, 3x magnification from the sensor not electronically, it works with Magic lantern (continuous recording, focus peaking (notice that this model do not have AF in video mode) and other photography related twaeks that I dunno as long as I don't realy take pictures :) Not ashamed to say that I still use it until today, paired with 10-22 for landscape and 17-55 2.8 IS for low light anrd handheld, still works great :) Kind of rule of thumb after 400-800 iso, noise appear in video. You might need to research some more to see if it fits your needs.
