Why would exploded pieces be so smoothly beveled?  It isn't a very convincing effect with the bevel used so extensively, imo.

Its all about experimenting and looking for what suits you.
There are a thousand options at you command buddy....use them to your own fancy

Why would you even ask a silly question like that?

Right. Well this is going to be a controversial opinion but I think people are being duped here. So I'm going to say what I think.

The examples are poorly executed. As are the examples which accompany all of these tutorials from this spammer. This just isn't well executed stock and I don't believe that m/any of these images are actually being accepted as stock. This is some kind of con - possibly spam aimed at driving traffic to a web site. Or else it is a pointless vanity project.

I've been using Photoshop since about 12 years. I'm guessing that if a person was relatively new to Photoshop then some of the stuff in these tutorials might seem clever or even vaguely useful. It isn't. These tutorials are a waste of time.

There are many much better tutorials. Buy one of Martin Evening's book if you want to learn Photoshop from a photographer's point of view. These tutorials are junk. They aren't free. They cost valuable time which could be better spent.

Sorry.

I am highly insulted! How dare you call me a spammer! How is it you are allowed to throw out derogatory
words at people based on just "What you think"

It's not too often this happens, but I take exception to your slanderous remarks.
It's quite obvious to me that your false and malicious statements are meant to ridicule me, and attempt
to damage my reputation here on this forum, and on the stock sites that I submit my work to.

You are someone who deliberately stirs up trouble, as I have witnessed from your post in the past.
I insist you cease your loudmouth slander of me at once.

Well Miz, I for one find your tutorials very useful.  I like your style and I like your simple approach.  I've learned some very valuable and time saving techniques.  Thank you for all the time and effort you devote to your work.

Good work Miz. I'm relatively new whit photoshop and I can recognize what technic can be approved by stock agencies and what don't or what I can successfully accomplish and what not. Even if one tutorial on ten is applicable to stock, it would make me better 1 time on 10.

If you post stock photography tutorials on the internet then you should accept the possibility that people who have an interest in the subject are going to critique them.  Especially given that web traffic is a monetizable currency.

What I am doing is no different from rating an ebay seller or reviewing a product on Amazon. I'm reviewing your tutorials and calling them lousy. Also your work. It's my honest opinion. I do not believe that the examples you keep posting are good examples of successful and well executed stock photographs - and therefore I'm suggesting that you aren't in the best position to be offering advice.

To turn the tables on your retort - how dare you question my right to do that? I'm calling shenanigans on your tutorials. It's my serious minded point of view.

I'm not trying to cause trouble or be nasty. Like an ebay review, this is essentially a consumer point of view.

I'm glad you have a unique point of view, and thank you for pointing us to the Martin Evening's book.  I have purchased PS books in the past and haven't really gotten much value out of them.  To be quite honest, if I were to put a $ value on the Miz's tutorials, compared to the last photoshop book (that I paid about $60 for), I would have a tab with the Miz running in the several hundred $ category.

I admire the Miz's conceptual art.  I REALLY admire it.   I noticed it years ago, before I was a member here.  I don't kid myself that I would ever get work in this style accepted anywhere.  But I have learned several practical things from him.

Now, you have to admit, your posts sound pretty aggressive.

The Miz is a cherished long time member of this group, and many of us have benefited from his experience.  I find it very upsetting when he is crucified for being helpful.

Until the moderator of this forum privately requests that he stop posting his tutorials, PLEASE, TO ALL YOU PROS WITH MORE EXPERIENCE THAN I... don't attend class... or better yet, stir up a "try it this way" response.

PEACE to you.

AAC6D63 , everyone has right to stand behind his words and behind his work.

Miz stands behind his tutorials and his work , and when you are already pissing over his work , stand behind your words and please show us what you learned in those 12 years you have been mastering PS.

Hit us with a link to your best work so we can finally see the "real stuff"

Peace

I just want to inform all the readers of this forum, that my therapist has been contacted on this issue.
She says "I have nothing to worry about, and that I should just ignore that mean person. (so there you mean person)

I of course am quite upset because my therapist plays to the tune of $150.00 an hour.
There goes all the money I made on StockXpert last month.

Of course I having my moments of deep depression brought about that evil doer "Mr AAC6D63" I hate you!.....yes yes yes...
You are lucky Mr AAC6D63 that I don't commit an act of self destruction like eating  too much chocolate, or causing me to kick my dog.

I demand a letter of apology from you at once. Otherwise I shall be compelled to take further drastic action like forcibly
making you smell my underwear. For those who dont have any idea what I'm talking about I invite you to view my underwear

Hi,

thanks again for another tutorial.

My personal opinion.

Just like any book or list of technique's some of miz's tutorials are great, some are average. Like photos the ones that I think are great are probably different from other people.

Regardless they are quick (as opposed to 30 minute tutorials that explain how to use every single tool on the way over and over again or spend over 5 minutes discussing how much they like a certain lens or treat you like an idiot etc etc etc) and I learn something every single time.  I may never use the entire technique but I gain knowledge of what can be done and where to start.

Noone makes you watch the tutorial, if you dont like them dont watch, just please dont screw it up for those of us who do get something out of it.

I find Mitz's tutorial very usefull, cos they go straight to the point without waste of time.
Obviously they are not for ps pros with 12 years experience, I m sure they are able to make much better job, and I m sure we all are waiting to see it ....

LOL @ this thread  ;D

Miz's tutorials are helpful to just about anyone using photoshop - if you're looking for photography tutorials, he does many of them.  This just so happens to be more of a "photoshopping" tutorial, and less of a "photo-editing" tutorial.  Just because you might have used photoshop for 12 years doesn't mean you've even scratched the surface of photoshop's capabilities.  I am an advanced photoshop user of 10 years, and even I learn things on a daily basis.  It's just a massive program, with thousands of possible techniques.

Ever heard the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all?"  If people on forums stuck to that rule, we'd have a lot more enjoyable time.  Arguing on the internet is more worthless than stink on an armpit.

Miz,

Don't get upset, I love reading your tutorials now, I used to think they were a complete waste of my valuable time and a blatant attempt by you to drive traffic to your website/portfolios, and as you know I've said before that I thought they were just rip offs of other tutorials written by people who actually know what they're doing.

However like you I went to see my therapist (who charges even more than yours) , they explained that being able to take a break every now and again from the stress of working life and waste some time having a good laugh at something, was in fact a good thing.

So I read your tutorials and then feel relaxed and able to continue with my day.
