I lost my photoshop tools. All other functions in menu works (curves, color balance). But none of the tools work anymore. There's only the small white hand that is moving the pictures who still show. All tools are showing this hand now.

It's seem to have started after I merged two layers in one, but I don't think it's because this operation?

I resetted the tools and even reinstalled photoshop 2 times.

Anyone already see that happening?

Have you tried Windows --> Workspace -- Default Workspace ?

The TAB key hides the tools. But I never in my life of working with PS heard of anything you describe.

One of the two: either Vonkara or his computer is possessed.

Exactly what I was thinking, it's a manifestation of Satan. I must make a small animal sacrifice or something lol

i've seen many things disappear on PS, eg. when it runs out of memory.
i know also when you set it to 16 bit, some of your filters are not available.
but tools? this is new.

My tools palette disappears all the time, because my computer doesn't have enough memory.  :(  It hides behind the program window, and can be retrieved by reducing the window size.

not sure if anyone knows this, but whenever my PS freezes up on me due to memory, and i can't do anything, not even "save", i found a quick solution, instead of losing everything:

click the icon to Transfer to Image Ready.
then close PS,
and click icon to Transfer to PS.
and you can work again in PS.
