Title: PS Update a big mistake

I have been using the 2019 version of PS for years because I like the tools.

I finally updated to newest version of PS-- big mistake! 
First I got constant notice hat I needed to update driver.
Did that-- still getting error message on driver.  Now have latest driver available from 2022.
Has anyone else encountered this?

Hate the new cursors for tools.  Right now the new version makes my computer sooooo slow.  Fairly fast computer-- a gaming computer with lots of RAM.

I really dread having to spend forever with PS customer service trying to get back the older version.

I'm still happy with my PS Elemens 2.0 from the millenia time. It is already long time ago that I decided that the future of stock photograpy did not justify any new investments or updates.

I don’t do much Photoshop work these days (retired), but I’m still using CS5. It works, and I did not want to go to the subscription model.

You used to be able to run two versions on a Mac (if I remember correctly), not sure if that’s true any more.

If your GPU is very old, it might not be compatible with PS.

I had that problem with my laptop, but I found a way to force PS to use it anyway.

You can try to making a .txt file called PSUserConfig.txt, containing the following:

# Force GPU On
GPUForce 1

And save it in [Installation Drive]:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\[Photoshop_version]\[Photoshop_version]Settings\

Turn off all of your automatic updates. Each and every time Adobe auto updates I have nothing but troubles. If you don't update then it seems to be fine.

The other option is to use alternative programs. I hear very good reports about Affinity. For Premiere alternative there is DaVinci. I switched over to DaVinci some time ago and I would never go back to Adobe Premiere, after going through the new learning curve I actually prefer DaVinci.

And yes, the dreaded customer service at Adobe. It's really horrible.

Yes also just been through a load of BS with PS (and AI too). Agree it's every update now.

guess i'm just lucky - i get the automatic updates and have never had a problem
