Title: selection isolated objects in photoshop
Post by: mtkang on April 18, 2012, 22:18
Hi,

I have used a pen tool to crop something out and paste on a white background and save a jpg. it is a objects with many frames and hollow.

I try to extract the object from the jpg, what kind of method i should use?

I am trying to look for an option like to select all pixels except white, but the only options i can see is select by color range. what I can do to extract the objects pixels perfectly?

I try to select by sampled the white backgrounds, but there is always a light tone color will be ignored.

I thought paste the object over pure white will be precise enough, so i didn't keep the clipping path.

should i make it to black and white and select the outline to create a path?

What I do instead of pasting an object into a new document is select inverse and then delete the background.  I'll add a layer underneath and fill it in with white.  That way the image retains the clipping path.
