Hi!

Just wondering hows it going for other people. Before August i've had steady 2-4 sales per month. Since 08.2018. until now, there are 0 sales.
Anybody experiencing similar?

Something must had happened to Pond5, because we are noticing a big drop in sales also in the past 2-3 months. We have 13000+ of footage.

I still have the same views.
but in the last 30 days I'm only selling 30% of what I usually sell every month.
I've never had such a big drop in sales on Pond5  :(
I do not know what's up.

Pond5 has awoken up for me. After a few years of average sales (50% shutterstock) the last few months have been fantastic. Most mornings I wake to multiple sales. A Lot 4K too and some with upgraded licenses for a considerable amount.

I've been getting sales at the same time (must be 2am UK time or something) as I always notice them early in the morning. I think the pond5 system must add up all the sales and send them out at a certain time?

Sorry for not following the doom trend.

well, yea... that explains it then. The algorithm of capping. Or more anti-capping-assholes-popular-word "exposure time". Enjoy while it lasts :)

Or just a change to the search algorithm which has resulted in some people benefiting and some people losing out.

Great days with P5. Big licenses prices very far from all the others. Very happy with this agency.

I was also very happy to see growing trend over the months, until it just suddenly dropped/stopped.  I guess it will come back, but it is crappy that you depend on algorithm and not on your portfolio/work...

Have you uploaded regularly since August?

Not regularly, you're right. I'm uploading via BlackBox since August.

I fear that they have changed the search algorithm to give more first page results to biggest and oldest contributors.

I have 4000 footages online on pond5 and I'm 3 years old contributor and I sell only 5 / 6 videos per month.

Also, they now are approving much more easily so they have increased too much the competition.

I've sent some complaints to them and I suggest to do the same to roll the algorithm back...

you can do a test, searching what you have just uploaded, and you can see if its in the first page when it's still new and check the first results of the others contributors, that usually are bigger and older.

Then my sales should be good since I am big (fat) and old  8)

I am also from 2015. with little over 500 vids, and have 1-3 sales per month.
Last 3 months strange thing. Same clip sold in 4k two months in a row, and again 3rd month in HD...
Before that 2.5 months with no sales, but i had a gap in uploading, and i think thats why the gap. Since i started uploading again sales came back.
