Hi. so I AM considering going exclusive with pon5 with around 900 clips. the question is, is it worth it? I had my first sale with them this month, and thinking to get the most money from my video.

I did sold more videos on AS, but they have different prices, so each time the sale was different. Thanks

I have a few thousand files exclusive in P5. For me it is not worth it all all, but for editorial files it is. Lots of factors to take one decision or another. Everyone need to decide. it is better to have files on both, but i think you will discover it is not worth it.

I went exclusive with Pond5, and it was the best thing i could have done. Because i make much more now, than i ever did before.
And the reason are the high prices, i sell clips at 299$ so that made all the difference for me.
And nobody steals your content at that price thats for sure.
So higher prices and the higher commission for being exclusive on Pond5 leads to a very high profits per sold video.

I'm all in exclusive with 30k videos on Pond5. I stopped selling on Shutterstock when they started video subs and saw my sales go down drastically. Also deleted all my videos on Adobe Stock last year because 80+% of my video sales became cheap video subs. It's not easy to just be Pond5 exclusive, but you'll get instant 50% raise in royalty from 40% to 60%. That's a good feeling. But also, I think pricing is important to maximize your revenue on Pond5. Customers who come to Pond5 buy clips because they couldn't find them on StoryBlocks, Shutterstock, Adobe Stock and other cheap stock video sites. They don't buy your video because it's cheap. They buy it because they need it that they couldn't find anywhere else. I started this new pricing strategy at the end of March. It's working well since.

As I mentioned in another thread, exclusive did not work out well for me. Previously, I was happy with my sales I was getting beforehand (even with a tiny port size.) I could see that P5 had great potential with the sales that I saw coming in. Well that all stopped as soon as I opened an exclusive account and moved all my videos to it. Since then, sales are super rare and are almost non existant.

May I ask how many files you have in your port?

Sure, i have soon 2500 clips on Pond5 exclusive, just make sure to upload new content regularly.
Here are my last sold files, i will test higher prices in the future as well, but so far 299$ works great for me, if you have somthing very uniq, you might even go to 500-700$ range.

unique means that the content is that speciel because only you offering it, in that case customers are willing to pay a premium price if its exactly what they need, because they cant get it anywere else.

Thanks, I'm still thinking. Because I sold more videos on Adobe than P5, and to be honest, i had my first sale with them last week, basically in 1 year time 1 sale.
