Title: One of my videos was 'returned'?
Post by: dragonblade on May 15, 2019, 11:52
Just now, Ive discovered that one of my videos on Pond 5 has been 'returned.' This is a video that had previously sold through SS. At first, I assumed that 'returned' meant 'rejected' on P5 though then I noticed there was a separate category for rejected content. So what does 'returned' mean within the context of P5 and how is it different to content that is rejected? Additionally, I could find no reason why it was returned.

... probably Pond5 reviewer asks you to correct something and resubmit - usually missing Model or Property release, typos or keywords(title) issues... they provide instructions with those returned batch files...

Ah thankyou. I couldn't find anything on the P5 website but Ive just found the return reason in one of my e-mails. It's been returned due to lack of a model release for a posed model. Apparently, they can't accept this kind of content as editorial. I assumed it was like SS where you could submit illustrative editorial content. Well supposedly not. The same video was accepted (and also sold) on SS as illustrative editorial. There's no chance I'll get a release form signed by this model so I'll just leave it be.

Perhaps you can resubmit with "Editoral Use" indication to the "curator notes" box?

:)

I was informed that they don't accept such videos (with posed models) as editorial.
