When I list all images on Pond5, and sort them from the most selling to least selling, I see that most selling photo has 0 downloads, which automatically means all other images have 0 downloads as well.
I guess this is not possible, right? Must be some glitch??
-
They may be using views as a 'most downloaded' metric.

Other categotries (videos, music...) are sorted correctly. Just photos and illustrations don't have any downloads shown.
-
Possibly, because they haven't sold any, yet? They've only launced their partner program collection a few weeks ago, and Pond5 isn't the first place I would be looking at when in need of photos...
-
It's a bit weird IMO as Pond5 has been around now for a while and I can totally see their buyers also being in need of images that might go along with the footage.
At Clipdealer I'm selling more images than footage and they started only with footage...
Just a shame that we can't see which of the 123RF sales came through Pond5. :-\

I'm more than satisfied with audio sales at Pond5. It replaced completely my audio sales at Istock. So, I guess they should be doing well regarding photos too..
-
Dreamframer, we are glad that you have been doing well on audio sales. I know this thread is outdated but consider this the beginning of a commitment to be a more direct participant in MSG forums going forward. Click-Click, our assumption is that your sales are a combination of both 123RF and Pond5, with a natural weighting towards the former. We certainly wish your sales metrics showed you partner site originations but that is unfortunately beyond the scope of what we can do as of current.
As some of you already know, we are working to build out our own photo/images collection by welcoming any interested artists to upload to our marketplace but this remains a current project. So we certainly appreciate the patience of those who have been diligently asking questions throughout the past months.
Any other questions/suggestions can be directed to me. Shoot me a personal message, and I will be happy to take the conversation offline. Or email them to our customer service team at [email protected] or tweet us @pond5. Thanks again.

I would be interested in adding some photos and illustrations. Just can't figure out where to do that at.
Or is that still the 123rf affiliation that you're talking about?
Let me know.

They aren't accepting images directly yet. Hopefully it wont be too long before they have that available.
-
Great to finally see someone from Pond5 on the forum. Thought they would have been accepting photos directly by now.

That would be nice my footage port is pitiful (I only have 4 :/) I need to fix that.

Great to see Pond5 here - I just signed up as a video contributor there & now have my first videos online.
Hoping to see some sales soon :)
-
would be good to upload pictures directly to Pond5 hopefully with an easy system like CanStockPhoto.
regarding videos, i have about 200 there but noticed in the past few months that sales at SS are doing better and better, but not at Pond5. Still i like Pond5:-)
-
^^^ I never got video sales going with SS and they have more rejections. Pond5 works much better for me.
-
RPD are lower at SS, I like the fact on Pond5 we can setup the price, sold some timelapses at 100 USD

Pond5 is the best video site, if they can sell pictures the same way as footages, it could be a good alternative from all other microstock sites. Anyway i don't understand why they sell 123Rf pictures, that so different from their price politic !!!!
-
I'll be very interested to see if they keep the 50% royalty rate. That could possibly start a game change given how successful they have been in the video market. Here's hoping!

Smithore - Thank you very much for the support. We love that our artists are so loyal, and hope our platform is a start (at least since 2006) to something even bigger -- and better. 123RF is a great partner, and we hope other artists from their side benefit from our thriving marketplace. As an FYI, we just hit 800,000+ video clips, which we believe is a testament to the diverse talents of our artists.

I have almost 2000 pictures of my 123rf pictures on Pond5 but 0 views and 0 downloads, anyone has any Dls' there for pictures?
-
Anyone else had any photo sales ?
-
I too have lots of images on Pond5, but no visible sales. OTOH my 123RF sales have been great in recent months, increasing percentage-wise more than any other site. Are some of my 123RF sales really on Pond5 (which is a very easy to use site with lots of customers, so it seems possible)?

Is there going to be an effort to clean up the library? Lots of times when I've done searches there I find 20 shots that look almost exactly the same and are obviously hand held. I think there should be some rejections and some culling of lower quality files.

Finally got 4 photos sales at Pond5 Via 123rf. I was able to track one sale (Large) on 123rf I got $ 0.9 and normally got $1.5 selling directly on 123rf.
so finally got a 30% commission for the sales on Pond5 instead of 50%
anyone else ?
Sales happened in Nov

I might give them a go then :-)
