Currently, 1,051,973 stock footage clips are exclusive in Pond5.
This is not a thread to analyze if exclusivity is good or bad, helps or kills a port, exclusives are stupid or smart.
It is just a poll to see current P5 status in terms of contributor's actions and future thoughts.
It might be helpful for newcomers and why not a message to P5 depending the votes.

Add your vote if you wish. Thanks!

My fault, didn't include people that were exclusive but already opt-out. Option now added.

You should add an option for those who already opt-out, like me. Exclusivity was a big disappointment, sales decreased month after month. Now after re-uploading all the files to Shutterstock and AS, I've lost all my files ranking everywhere, which is a huge loss.

Could do with a 'P5 exclusive' addition to the poll like with iStock.

If someone is 'truly' exclusive (and doesn't cheat hoping pond5 doesn't notice there clips elsewhere), from what I've seen I do not believe the slight increase in sales compensates for lost sales at other agencies...

Speaking for myself, i do honor the agreement.

My question is, will other agencies allow to slowly upload and keep in non-submitting queue a large amount of files
tagging and preparing within this 6 month exclusive-ending period in order to submit after the end of the exclusivity?
And what ranking as "fresh content" those files will have after half a year stored?
Guess it is better to focus on new content and not manipulating the system or being dishonest.
:)

I honor the system! really whats the point if you don't want to have exclusive files then don't You have to be a real low life to sell your integrity for 10%

10%

10%?

You make 50% more on an exclusive sale at the same price as a non-exclusive sale.

Sorry Non-Exclusive =40%   Exclusive +60% that is a 20% difference.

No, it is not.

That is a 50% difference.

Price: $100
Ex: You get $60.
Non-ex: You get $40.

$60 is 50% more than $40.

---

If you get $2,000 as non-ex, you get $3,000 as ex for the same sales. 50% more.

---

It is very important to get the math right when making business decisions.

Only doing the % math not the earnings, I have sold a lot of exclusive files and it is not 50%  earnings difference, I can post that.

A 60% cut is 50% more than a 40% cut.

"% math" and "earnings math" follow each other 100%.

This is extremely important.

I understand what you are saying all I am stating is the it is not dollar  for dollar 50% more as I have the sales to prove it.

No, your sales prove that creating a new account with mostly a different portfolio with new clips with 0 sales (= bad search placement), with a large part consisting of animated still images didn't produce the sales you had expected.

If you had had a non-ex deal on that same account with those same clips, uploaded at the same time with the same prices, you would only have earned 67% of what you actually earned.

When you make business decisions you base them off of actual math, not what you know happened in the future...

---

Since I make several hundred percent to 1,000%+ more from the other sites (and always have), a 50% bigger cut was not enough for me. Of course going ex COULD have resulted in amazing promotion and customers flocking to $1,000 clips and I would have been wrong. In this case, I wasn't, but I didn't base my decision on that.

No matter the percentages, exclusivity was (for me) all about not spreading files all over, worrying in what sub library they will end up and satisfying customers that would prefer an exclusive video pool paying something better for this feature. Strike one was llc sales, strike two was listing (not sales, list for sale) in China market with low prices, strike three was this hyperstock thing. Not really frustrated, i will keep my files in P5 hoping for the best but now i want my freedom to delete any file to my will.

I cannot change my vote to the poll but also send the six months termination notice.

Bumping this old thread...
howz everyone doing in p5 ? i am very reluctant to upload video to any site now.. because not actively shooting anymore like 5 6 years back. came back to stock sites to see if something changed but seems even sites which were best few years back are not anymore..
so planning to upload my videos to p5 (with 2nd exclusive account)( and images to just getty and alamy.. (no more ss,is)
ps- i just have tinny port of about 200 videos but all are different.. no more 2 are similar
so just wondering how everyone doing in p5.. specially those exclusives one compared to last year when this thread was started
