I make exclusively videos, mostly aerial shots of monuments in Rome.
Until a few months ago I had a good income, about 30 sales per month.
In the last 3 months I have sold just 3 clips per month.
On the other hand, on Shutterstock sales have increased significantly. October is the most profitable month for me ever.

You too have noticed a heavy drop in sales.

PS. Lately I have been uploading a lot of vertical clips, but in the search by flagging "vertical" on Pond5, they are not highlighted. Here too I ask you if anyone has the same problem?

Yes I alerted their Support to this bug a while back. The vertical videos are visible in search but bizarrely when you select the Vertical filter they are no longer visible. My observation is this problem goes away after some time of being online, maybe a couple of weeks.

Do you need a special permit to fly a drone in Rome? Or just take out your drone and fly.

Definitely permit and insurance from what I heard from a friend of mine from Italy. Same thing applies in UK

For me that place has been the walking dead since I joined. The service was never bad but never had a sale....so far. Meh..

Last month was my best month on Pond5 since October 2022.

Thank you for sharing uplifting news.

I had two tiny clip sales today, so at least some movement.

My sales on P5 since Oct 15th have been great, comparable to the pre-SS takeover days. Will be seeing the best payout on the 15th of Nov that I have had in several years, even without any more sales until then. And thankfully, they keep coming. Praying this trend is going to stick for a while.

My sales are dead as of Jan 1. A couple of hundred against a typical 1500 a year.  Something they did in Jan changed the search and I fell to the bottom.  Prob SS jerking them around.

Yes - I agree.  Something seemed to have happened/changed on P5 in January.

After a decent 2023 I had one sale in 1st week of Jan. and then nothing, zip, zilch, zero, until finally 2 days ago after almost 10 months a sale finally dropped.

Maybe it will be better going forward - couldn't get a lot worse.

For me, the main income on pond is sales through the affiliate program and royalties for training artificial intelligence.

This year is better than 2023 for me, with an average of around 250$ per month (no new files uploaded, but I've transferred more videos to my exclusive account).

Same here. And even more than last month.
Dataset earnings pay much more than regular sales.

71 dollars for 1000 clips even if they don't sell?

Fine by me. Thank you pond5.

35 USD this time, peanuts in comparison with my 600 USD earnings in sales last month. (oct 24 was my best month ever on pond5)

$66 this time. I was really surprised to see a dataset payment so soon after the last one.

Im opted out yet continue to receive dataset earnings. Sigh. What is even the point of the opt out button?

Sure, I ask for all the necessary permits, plus you have to have valid reasons to film...

I never get 40% commission anymore, it's turned into a myth.

All my HD vids are priced at $70 but they passed onto me the following for November

$2.00
$15.60
$6.40
$6.40

Plus the scraps thrown for dataset earnings.

Thank you sire, how else may I please you?

Just imagine you get 40% of the Net License Revenue rather than the list price... and you'll almost always get 40% commission!

My sales drop is inexplicable. Before I sold 30/40 clips a month, now if it does well a couple.... what's going on, are my clips not working or are you also experiencing a drop in sales?

So, what do I see. Lately, many files are not uploaded via FTP. Pond5 has disabled its support, now all requests go to shutterstock support, which does not respond.
This is a disaster!

As I've had steady...ish sales from P5, I decided to go exclusive with them (and Shutterstock). Since doing so, sales on P5 have crashed through the floor. Apart from 2 dataset earnings payments totalling $25, I've had no sales in the last 4 months, wilst SS sales have increased a bit.
