It seems they have reset the passwords of some contributors because "suspicious" activity (me included). I reset and created a new password and rolling again.........

Confirmed on their forum. No worries.

TBH i login several times a day, open multiple windows etc. In whatever site might did this it would be considered irregular usage I guess :D

Yes, everyone. I spoke with P5 yesterday and they confirmed that all accounts need to be reset.

They never sent me an e-mail about the problem.  I had to come to this forum to learn about it.

I contacted support, and they just replied telling me to enter "forgot password."
I have entered a "forgot password" request a few times.  It promises that a reset link will be sent, but it never comes.

I wonder if this affects customers also, or just us lowly contributors?

Remind me never to complain about Getty again :)

Check your spam folder would explain no email no reset.

Thank you.  I was already aware of the existence of a spam folder.   Even if I hadn't been, Pond5 automatically tells you to look in it when you say you have forgotten your password.  Nada nada nada.

I contacted Microstockr about the issue. We can't access Pond5 data through Microstockr anymore because Pond5 added a captcha requirement. Here is the full email I received from Microstockr. I've already emailed Pond5 asking them to fix this.

Pond5 introduced a captcha on their website effectively blocking us from logging in.

We've recently asked the agency for an API and the response was it's not on their priority list.
Perhaps they will change their minds if more people request it.

We encourage our users to send them an email at [email protected] with a message like the one that follows. Feel free to change it:

"Hi Pond5,

My name is ... and I'm a contributor to your agency. I also am a Microstockr Pro user which is an app that helps me track my sales and which I use regularly.
I've noticed you recently added a captcha to your login screen that blocks the app from logging in.
Since these statistics are very useful to me, is there a way you can provide an API the app can use to get the sales data?
I know you are concerned with account security but I've been using this app for a while now and I never had problems with it.

Please consider it as it would make our lives a bit easier.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks."

------------

If they send you a response, please let us know.
In the meantime we will try and see if we can open that captcha in a pop-up inside the app.
An API would solve this issue for both Microstockr Pro and Mobile.

I had the same problem. No 'reset password' email received.
I contacted support and they reset some email settings their end and now I receive their emails ok.

I had the same issue. I wrote Pond5 tech support, rather than whining on a user group where nobody can do anything.  Novel idea, I know...

Pond5 responded that they changed their logon system to prevent hacking, as has made the news with many other companies recently, to the negative impact on their reputation.  Pond5 went on to state they know they need an API for third parties like StockSubmitter and MicroStockr Pro, but they have not yet figured out how to do it in a secure fashion that allows legit third party while preventing hackers.  They claim they know how important it is, and that they are working on it.

I responded that I understand their predicament, but that Pond5 sales are not large enough to warrant my separate submission to them, not the separate logging on to track sales. I have put Pond5 in "limbo" and will not be uploading any new media to them until this is resolved.

BTW, to get in, just press the "forgot my password" button, and follow instructions to create a new password.  Takes all of 30 seconds -- far shorter than writing a gripe message here.
