Where do you think Pond5 ranks without video, if it was only photos? I'm thinking about adding my portfolio there but don't want to if they are not going to rank above Canstock. Also I see that their recommendation for your original file is $5 bucks. That seems really low and yet reading in the forum someone said they did it at $25 and Pond5 kept telling them they should lower their price.

I think they are well below CanStockPhoto for photos. Mine are priced at $10, I don't sell many.

Most months I would be at a big fat 0 on the survey for Pond5 if it were photos only. We have ours priced similarly (most at ~10) and sell one (out of a port of about 1000) every 2-3 months. With only photos, I don't think it's worth the time. With videos, it's worth it the effort because it tops up your income there. We've considered not sending photos there at all (even with a video port) but the upload process is easy and I am stubborn so I keep submitting.

Definitely in low earners tier for pix. I wouldn't bother.
Even their narrative on LinkedIn clearly shows that photos are NOT their priority.

My Opinion......they should have never went into The still Business.

They get no more of my stills or video.

It really looks like the pond5 we knew has been destroyed.
The old pond5 was a marketplace, where you could buy photos from one dollar videos from 10.
Now they seem to follow a macrostock or boutique agency approach, but they havenīt changed their prices.
If for video they would establish a new floor at 60 dollars, maybe the rejections would make sense.
But as long as you offer 10 dollar content you also have to accept 10 dollar files.
Instead of ruining pond5 they should have opened an elitist new playground.
I havenīt had a single sale since the changes. Looking at my portfolio it seems impossible to see what I offer, it is completly user unfriendly.
So I guess the business is now moving to ss,fotolia and videoblocks.

Very true.
They reject regardless of the prices.
They must either fix the prices and decide which files to be added to the database OR leave the prices to the contributor and accept the content if the file is technically okay.
