I'm seeing my Pond5 sales picking up really well this month. Anyone else having similar results?

Really good to see this with various problems and slowing sales on some other agencies in recent months. Hopefully will see continued sustainable lift in sales on Pond5.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for myself - in March so far only 1 sale at P5 and the other agencies are also very quiet for videos this month (Adobe 6, Shutter 2).
That's far below my average for videos so far in March.

Not really, unfortunately for me.  What's your pricing for HD and 4k?  I'm $74/HD and $149/4k now.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for me. Only 5 sales at the moment.
I usually set prices the same as blvdone.

I've been on P5 for nearly a year. Never sold anything. Have around 800 clips.

Sales are random at P5, but this year it's somehow stable: Jan 7 sales, Feb 7 sales, March till now 5 sales.

Myself and others have had similar experiences when starting out at P5. It can take a very long time for the sales to start. And when they do eventually start, it's like the flood gates are open and more will follow. It took many long months of waiting for my first sale there. And then other sales came shortly after.

Alright, thanks a lot. I thought I need to be exclusive to sell videos on there
Or doesn't matter?

Oh man, I had a really bad experience when I opened up an exclusive account. Previously, I was doing very well on P5 with an extremely small video port. Sales were good. There would even be occasions where I would sell a video one week and then sell another clip the following week - all with a tiny port. As soon as I opened up an exclusive account and moved some of my videos to it, my sales dropped like a rock. And they never recovered. So yea sales these days at P5 are an extremely rare occurrence for me. I stuck with the exclusive account for about a year and then moved those videos back to my non exclusive account but it didn't make any difference to sales.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Then no point for me to go exclusive with P5. I uploaded my videos pretty much on all my stock sites I use. Just sold on yesterday on Adobe for $24

P5 sales for some reason dropped like a stone several months ago. "Slight" improvement over the massive drop, but not yet where they should be historically.

Not really, unfortunately for me.  What's your pricing for HD and 4k?  I'm $74/HD and $149/4k now.

I have a wild mix of prices.

Nice editorial and shots with people where I paid the actors/models, between 129-180 for 4k.

Ducks in the park and test shots usually 50-69 for 4k, simple food shots and other stuff somewhere in between.

I also keep changing my prices every month, some go up, some go down.

And if the content has no sales for 3 years or more, I offer it cheaper. Including people stock, if it doesn't sell, the content is not interesting enough.

I still only have 1100 clips, so that port really needs to grow.

I only have one file in my exclusive port, not sure if it is worth expanding that.

Then there are around 500 files exclusive with bb and they are usually offered for 179 on pond5, but also go to many other places that have subs. I sill get higher sales which must be mostly from p5.

Overall I have been slowly increasing my prices for editorial and that seems to be ok.

I have also had sales that are higher than what I priced them, I suppose those are enterprise deals.

We have some model shootings planned this year, those should be between 139- 180. Usually I will offer some "teaser" clips cheaper from the series and the rest higher.

It will be a few years before we have high quality ai people.

Work in progress, video is not my main genre. But again for such a small port, I think the sales are ok. This month it was 4 sales and 113 dollars on p5. Also had some video sales on Adobe and of course every month sales on BB.

I like the sales on BB. I had around 450 files in 2023 and these are the results.

Obviously I need a lot more files for both pond5 and BB to really make it work.

I bit off topic, what agency is BB?

BB - blackboxglobal

they are a distribution agency, the content has to be exclusive. they take 15% which I find very reasonable.

they also have built in tools for sharing. if you are working with a team  - actor, director, post processing, camera, location owner...you can allocate a percentage of the sale for every clip. This way they all get paid automatically.

you can also sign up your local animal shelter or ngo and allocate them a fixed percentage if you want to.

you can also find someone to do postprocessing and metadata from the bb community and just focus on filming and let them do the rest.

they have a really active fb community and many people post very good results.

and here is their website

i like them, i think it is a good add on to sending my content everyhwere myself.

Ohh, thanks. I've heard bad reviews about them. So will avoid them. I think they are working the same as wirestock.

They are very different to wirestock. I stopped supplying wirestock, I still supply BB.

But everybody has to find their own way.

I also know people who are very happy with wirestock.

Had an account with wirestock, deleted last year, not worth it, was thinking to apply with BB, but I found out that they are the same thing.

you think my income in 2023 is bad? 550 usd for 450 files?

well, everybody has different expectations.

obviously also depends on the content you send. if the content sells rarely in the normal p5 port, it will probably not sell better with bb.

That's good, I started last year, so not expecting much. But want to focus more on content creating.

I'm sure you are very experience if you make that much. I'm still newbie.

Recently started to generate Ai images. Which I'm happy with. And started to create more videos with my drones and gopro.

Best month on Pond5 since June 2023, not extraordinary but a decent result overall.

Just had another sale on the last day of the month and this makes it my best month ever on Pond5. Really should be expected given how many videos I had uploaded over the past 2 or so years but at least Pond5 picked up this month. Just hope similar results continue.

Same here, another last minute sale from an old file. so 5 sales in march with 1100 clips.

I sincerly hope this is some kind of turnaround and things are improving at p5.

On the last day of March there are 6 video sales. 5 of them are through Global Market. Pond5 may have expanded its partner network.

Pond5 returns to its regular crawl with just one sale under $20 so far this month.
