Title: Pricing multi agency appearing clips
Post by: georgep7 on February 17, 2020, 03:14
I would like to try to upload some new clips non exclusive in P5, so also to AS and SS.
what is the max price tag that will not trigger a possible P5 "you price else lower" ?

For clips uploaded in all three P5/AS/SS how do you price them in P5? HD and 4K options please.

Thanks!

there is a limit at $150 in P5 frontpage due to the price slider.
Changed prices and left some days for cache to refresh or whatever and no 4L clip was shown...
So, guess, $149 is the top limit currently in order for videos to be seen...

P5 blog suggest even lower price range. pffff...

???

The limit is $150+, not $150. :)

So, infinity. Not saying infinity is the right price, but clips priced over $150 are very much shown.

Thank you increasingdifficulty!

Apologies if I made a wrong statement.
I will retry and see, perhaps it was a faulty grammar search or something and did a mistake.

Isn't SS $179 for 4K? That's the standard price I use.

Yup I use $179 for 4K and $79 for HD.

I started exclusive at P5 but soon realized this was a very bad decision so got back to non-exclusive (after 6 month period). No sales and barely any views during exclusivity and pretty much the same now being non-exclusive.
It's a pity since I like everything about P5. Contributor support is top notch, so is the uploading, editing and representation of your profile and portfolio.

When I started uploading those same clips to SS and AS I already had downloads after a few days and fair priced. So as much as some of us would like to support other agencies, without sales they are not much good to us.

Contributors that price their work far below industry standard are killing this industry much faster then expected and they don't even realize it. People have no self-respect or value their own or others work anymore. Well in this market anyway. This type of virus hasn't spread all over just yet!

Since they cut our share from 50% to 40% i raised my prices to 99$/199$ (instead of 79/179) to try to get even. Sales are pretty much the same (lowered even on 79/179), but then i am not a constant uploader.

I am now trying 79/179 with some files, and i'll see how that goes.
No way i am going to sell my footage for peanuts.

That's what I thought, too. My 4Ks are priced at $179 on P5, SS, and AS.
