For the last 3 years I've had at least 1-2 sales a month on a portfolio of ~150 720p files.  I haven't had a sale since January of this month, my longest dry streak ever.  Since they started accepting images, I've also added ~150 images, and only 1 sale so far (which was also in January).

Bad luck for me, or has anybody else seen a change?

I have over 600 video files on Pond5. Jan and Feb sales were good but March, April and so far this month sales seem to have dropped off and are down about 50% of what they were previously.

The last couple of months are really slow at Pond5 (talking footage here).

Beginning of the year was better, last year was a lot better. I hope they get more buyers soon.

I hope it's not the fact that they get swamped with new content and sales get diluted...  :-X

last month was super hot. This month not so good. Same with SS. It's slow right now.

Same here. I have > 400 clips, had been consistently averaging > 10 sales / mo until March, when I had only 8 sales, and April was worse at a mere 5.  This month has started poorly, too, with just a single sale so far through 7 days.

Perhaps we've already reached the point of too much supply and not enough demand, just as seems to have happened on the photo side?

It's gotta be something else causing the issue.  For a 50% drop in sales, I would assume there would have to be a doubling of the content on the site to evenly distribute total file demand.  But there's no way they could have doubled the total files in just 3 months.

Sales have been very good there for me, peaking with a really good month last month. Then it has gone very quiet this month. Still plenty of time for this month to kick into gear though.

Small video portfolios there for some who have commented above make ebbs and flows very noticeable. Until you have a good size selection (at least 1000+) of videos covering a broad range of subjects, it's hard to blame the ups and downs on any external factors.

I think there's been a lot of new content from former istock exclusives.  Might explain the very long review times.  Sales haven't been too bad for me but my video portfolio isn't that commercial and I'm bot a big seller.  I have seen SS improving a bit, so perhaps some buyers have gone there?

I sell mainly audio on P5 and for the last 3 years it has been my main income until now. The last 3 months for me sales have tanked to an absolute low. I am uploading new work ALL the time and sales are worse. I have even opened up my photo portfolio on there and have not had any sales. Dire !!! :(

Haven't sold any images there in 14 days.  Severely disappointing.

I used to do really well @ P5 with a small video port, but for about a year the sales have been decreasing steadily. If you are experiencing a decrease as well don't expect it to get any better with the summer slowdown arriving.  :'(

Has anyone received a boost in sales from the pixmac merger?

Pixmac merger ? I don't think it has happened. Sales boost ? just photo sales would be good before any boost.

General answer:

Where the more you worked and uploaded, and the more IS innovated and pushed, the more my income jumped. [2005]  You could see results.  Now, with more than 1000 images on P5, and not a sale in 15 days, I don't know how anyone would think positively.

But P5 could be "the next big thing"  ::) Which I'm sorry to say, there hasn't been the next big thing, pretty much since Microstock started. It was the big thing, now we have promises and hope, dropping sales, dropped commissions, lower income, lower returns, which in this case, what has been touted as a merger. Who believes that it was really a merger? I'm skeptical.

Here's a likely hypothetical scenario. Pixmac was going out of business, P5 took over the debt and the name and the site. Bailed out the owners and gave them work. But to save face, it's called a merger.

Yep... Next Big Thing, the P5 PXM merger.   :o

It's quite the opposite for me. I have an 100 clips portfolio and never had a sale on Pond5 until last month when I had 2. I noticed that my oldest clips sold, so I'm thinking that maybe the files need to be online for a while until the first sales. Made some good money in June thanks to those sales. It really motivated me to work more.

with the level of sales and size of portfolios there's really no statistically realistic conclusion we can draw --  with sales of 20-30% of your portfolio each month, you can start to expect a standard bell curve, but here, it's impossible to generalize.

this month I had BME in terms of number of sales & 2nd BNE in terms of $

all this also assumes that all portfoilios are similar, which of course they're not.  so concluding sales overall have 'dropped' cannot be supported by any evidence

If you try this formula you might be able to better project your future sales- it's all relative    ;D

E = m c^2 = (gamma) m0 c^2 = K + m0 c^2

unfortunately, the energy most of us have invested in our portfolios has only depleted our wallets at the speed of light

Its looking for me that this month's P5 payment is set to be the lowest since Nov 2010 when I had only just signed up with a few audio files. This year I have nearly 2000 sounds and over 500 images added this year and it's getting worse by the month. Very very depressing !!!

I had high hopes from P5 when signing up several months ago. had just a handful of sales, which i am quiet disappointed with, have around 500 footage on sale, well i hope things will get better.

I just asked them to close my account. I dont know why people are so positive about them or reported these good sales numbers. If Sean Locke cant pick up decent sales there, I have no chance in he11

The same for me very bad sales.:( I had my last footage sale on 06-06-2013. It's more than a month ago. At the beginning I was so excited about Pond5. But now I'm not so sure about it. It's sad
