switch from exclusive to standard account

(1/1)

Findura:
The sales of my exclusive P5 account are getting worse and worse. I am thinking of switching from exclusive to standard account.

How long do I have to wait before I can upload my media with other agencies?

And if I delete my portfolio at P5, how long do I have to wait until I can upload my media at other agencies?

Her Ugliness:

If you’re a participating artist, you can withdraw from the Pond5 Exclusivity Program by providing 6 months written notice for us to shift your account to a non-exclusive one. After that period, you can also opt back in at any time.

As I understand it from their FAQ the time period is 6 months.

If I remember well it takes about six months, but why don't you simply ask them?
Usually Pond5 answer quickly

Mantis:
The exclusive lure is bunk on P5. They admit that you do not get special placement in the search.  Only a better share if your content happens to sell.  But you are still competing against 100% of any competitive non-exclusive content to your exclusive content.  So unless your content is truly unique with little competition, going exclusive there isn't worth it in my opinion.

Findura:
Thanks, guys. I have requested the termination of exclusivity. P5 says I have to wait 6 months.

My exclusive content used to be very good, double number of clips than non-exclusive. But in the last few months the sales have been fewer and fewer and lower and lower.
Maybe the algorithm is also bad because I rarely upload anything there anymore.
GPP sales used to be particularly good. But unfortunately, there are no more GPP sales since the contract with AS was terminated.

My non-exclusive content sells a bit better. Maybe later - after 6 months - I will put all media into one non-exclusive account. There I upload constantly something new. Maybe that's better for the algorithm.
But if there are only small-priced sales and my original prices are only ignored by P5, then I might close my accounts too.
