At the moment, I'm trying to sign up for an exclusive account at Pond 5. Just to clarify, I don't want to make all my clips exclusive. I just want to make certain clips exclusive and make the rest available on more than one agency. Of course during this turbulent time period, there's so few agencies that pay respectable commissions for videos. SS has just thrown it's contributors under a bus (unless you can make massive amounts of sales over there to get to their top paying levels.) So as far as I know, that leaves just P5 and Adobe Stock as the only two viable options.

However, I'm curious about this second account that I have to set up. According to the instructions, I have to click on a button that says "Sign Up Now" on the Sell Your Media page. I can't see that option so I guess I'll just click on the "Sign Up" option. I'm asked to create a new user name which I'm finding a little unusual. I think I would prefer to have a single user name when I'm selling both exclusive clips and non exclusive clips. That way, I have a common identity and buyers would realise that all my videos were produced by the same person. If they like one of my clips and are considering purchasing it, chances are that they may like another one of my clips on my second account that has a different user name. I'm not even sure if P5 lets buyers know that two accounts with potentially usable videos may belong to the same person.

You have to create two different accounts with different names. It is not possible as now to have both accounts under the same umbrella-name. What I did is to use the same name but with a "_exclusive" added so any potential client could guess that I had another non exclusive account there.

Ah very clever! That's a good strategy.

I'm trying to sign up right now though it's not accepting my new user name. It's indicating that no special characters are allowed. All I'm doing is reusing my existing user name (which has no special characters) and adding 'exclusive.' At first, I thought that maybe they have an issue with the capital letters I used at the beginning of my original user name and 'exclusive.' I changed them to lower case but that made no difference. Very odd. I'm definitely not using any special characters.

Very good idea!

Yea I am using spaces. Though I admit it would look odd if I added 'Exclusive' on the end of my existing user name without a space in between. I also did a test where I typed in random letters with no spaces as my user name and it still got rejected it for special characters.

Edit: I just tried again with no space between my original user name and 'Exclusive' and it worked. Thanks!

And now Ive just come across another hurdle. According to the FAQ, I need to go to the Exclusivity Landing page in order to enroll in the exclusive program. I'm on that very page now but I don't see any options to enroll or join. All I see is a list of benefits on being exclusive. If I click on Sell Your Footage, I'm directed to the home page.

Thats what i did when they first brought it in. It seemed the obvious thing.
