Just received an invitation to join artflakes.com
Anybody have any experience with them? What are sales like?
I poked around a little and found out they are a print on demand company founded in 2010
based in Berlin focusing on sales of print on demand Art prints, posters, and greeting cards of photography, painting, graphics, illustrations.
Worldwide Alexa rank is 29,013 compared to fineartamerica 5,777, deviantart at 130, zazzle 903, imagekind 21,192, cafepress 1,265, redbubble 4,215.

Some information from their site.
Free to join. Able to set own prices. Earn money each sale. Own storefront. Stats. Keep all copyrights. Language in deutsch | english.  Monthly payout. Quality products. Worldwide shipping. Money back guarantee.

I'm also on fineartamerica which seems similar but haven't had any luck with them yet with a very small portfolio.

I got this email this morning also. It looks like they probe the other sites mentioned by WaterView for potential participants. I'm just not interested in another possible, possible, possible, potential, maybe, maybe outlet. I may be just a bit jaded after getting so many invitations from new micro-stock ventures.

Hi,

I had a look at your fineartamerica-portfolio site and your website
and would like to get in touch regarding a print on demand
cooperation for our second premium art print site

ARTFLAKES .com.

We are located in Berlin and sell art print reproductions mainly in
Germany, UK, France. We are not a service for designers,
illustrators, photographers, we are only interested in a license
cooperation with you.
Means: partnership doesnt cost anything, we only earn money when
you earn money (from us).

Could this be generally interesting for you? Then I would send some
further information.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Have a nice weekend!

Best from Berlin,
Martin Thesen

I know many artists, and many of them are indeed flakes.

I've been with them since August 2011 and have so far made 130 with minimal effort. Not a huge fortune but it all adds up. It is a nicely laid out site, they pay promptly and there is a good community spirit.

It is POD, not microstock.  Buyers can purchase prints, not the images themselves.

Thanks for the feedback on this POD site.
Glad to hear that nic has had sales. It's encouraging. Seems like an okay return.
nic, about how many different images do you have on artflakes? (Not overall products, although if you want to share that too that would be ok).
nic, I like hearing the minimal effort part too, that's good news.
ppdd, I hear you about the some artists are flakes.  ;) Guess it sometimes takes a flaky person to produce art.
I was somewhat concerned about the site name artflakes but I suppose it's meant to be tounge-in-cheek funny and I know humor can sometimes help one remember, so it's good to remember the sites name at least.
I think it's a really nice looking site. Seems friendly.

I've got 36 images up so far, so not a huge amount and started out with around 10 to see how they did.  Very easy to upload.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing.

Too bad they don't read metadata from images. Adding title, description and keywords manually or as cut and paste is too much trouble.

How do you guys compare it to Fine Art America, Redbubble or Imagekind on the sales perspective?

Not with FAA or Imagekind, but am with Redbubble.  I make more on RB but have been with them for much longer so hard to compare.
