Maybe Mark is using the advanced options on the "Appearance" page?

In order to get the "Product Types" on your store you have insert code into the interface under Advanced / Beta tab which essentially turns the feature on ...

Here is the link that I found most helpful in setting this up:

I just started my store and found that to my Categories and Product type showing was a bit of a problem at first . . . . . . . . .  but easily solved.

http://forum.zazzle.com/new/product_type_missing

After a week of working on the store I see now that like everything in the ether world, it does take a lot of work.
Progress is seen here:

It sure is.  There are only 37,769,366,834 products!  Crowd sourcing is indeed a marvel of the modern economy. ;D

Just had another sale on Zazzle. That's 3 sales in my first two weeks. It was my "Born to Storm Chase" bumper sticker with a vector storm illustration of mine. Here is the link if you would like to see it:

I gave you a 6 rating. I don't know if ratings affect search placement. Maybe we should have a ratings thread like we used to have for StockXpert.

Payments are delayed this month.  Don't sweat it, they are starting to come in now.

Hi
Is it possible to create automatically in one step with one image all products what they are selling, to choose categories, and pick keywords etc, and after that you just uncheck products which are not suitable for few of them?
Or to make one product and after that to choose few other product and apply categories, keywords etc from first one? After that we can just to go thru new products and make enlargements or repositioning of image?
Second stupid question.
Why they just dont offer to buyers to choose our image/s and make they custom product by themselves?
Is it something above possible or I miss something?

Yes, although I am not 100% sure it does all you want. In your account, go to products, and on the top left you find a "quick create" button. I only tried it once, and I didn't like it. Maybe I'm too meticulous, but I prefer to create products one by one, or taking one previous design and replacing the image to create a new one.

No. You can create different versions of the same product, let's say, first a horizontal card and then a vertical one. But I do a lot of copy & paste from one product to the other.

I don't know what enlargements you mean.  You can always pick one product and change something in the design, but you have to save it as a new item.

I have already thought of that, maybe a buyer sees an image as a greeting card and wants it as a mousepad. It is possible, technically speaking, but I guess it isn't how they designed the product creation and all the programming behind it. Also, many designs are not just the image, but image + text.

Excuse a really ignorant question following on from the above.

I am uploading one fairly large image which exceeds the resolution requirements for each category then tinkering with it using the design tools so that it looks ok on the specific product.

Is this ok or should i be uploading a seperate image at the recommended size for each product?

The whole thing is fascinating, working out what has a chance of selling is (for now) intriguing. It's just a a shame that this info isn't available ( similar to number of downloads on the microstock sites).

I try first one and start picking products. As you mentioned It is tricky. After few I press one of wrong buttons and it calls me back over again. I start it from begining and application turns me to side to which I think I want to. To Apply categories and keys etc to all products. After that (lets say 24 or more hours they say that you can customize size (fittings) of images in particular products, as potential buyers can.
THNX again
You make my day  :)

If you go to your "My Account" page, and go to your products, there on the bar you will see a "sort by stats" link.

You can see stats on which products are being looked at by day, week, month or all time.  Fun to play with? YES!! But it's like counting views. Doesn't mean much of anything. Sometimes store owners will open your product so they know how to keyword or categorize their products.

As for the one click quick create, I don't use it. I prefer to make my products one at a time.  There is nothing more annoying than looking at the new products page and seeing 463 tee shirts, different styles and colors, with the same isolated apple design on them. If you're going to make a product, you should be more interested in making a product that is going to sell, rather than just anything to fill your store, IMO.

TBAs are fun to get, but aside from a tiny little award on the page, they don't really mean much in the end :) But, again, they ARE fun to get. The quickest way to know is to check your comments, people are usually quick to congratulate the winners of the latest awards! The kudos sure feel nice, too :)

I always try to upload the largest image I have, because then you have the most options design-wise.

Thanks for the tips. I also avoid the quick create function. I try to crop my images in advance by the proportions given in the guide files. It seems to make it easier to make them fit various designs.

They are fun to get.  I got one for a Water Color Tie on Jan 18 . . . . . . . brought a lot of "Fans" but it didn't bring a lot of sales.   :o

WT*bleep*???

I'm working on setting up a store for my vintage art collection, and just noticed that my store title and description changed on the front page.  It returned back to normal after a refresh, but I'm still wondering if anyone else has had this happen before.

Did anyone answer OP's original question about 10% commission? You can set a different commission rate, but how does it affect sales?

I have having some difficulties in setting up different store categories. The changes don't take effect immediately.
