My first batch went up today:

http://www.clipartof.com/portfolio/cthoman

Thanks Dennis for your promotional rampage. You even found your way onto my blog and posted there. Hopefully, you received a referral fee for me.

Hopefully the referral fees make up for the loss of income when the number of new competitor files spreads sales out a bit more than they probably are now. ;)

Thanks for your concern but I think we will all do well. :-*

Great of you to take that gamble on behalf of all the other contributors that are already there too!

Sorry if you didn't get what I was saying, not sure why you think I didn't read the last posts. Someone said they hope that the referal fees would make up for the loss of income more submitters will inevitably bring. I'm sure they will far, far outstrip your loss of income, but for the other existing contributors to the site they will not. So by chosing to refer people in such an open way on a public forum you have screwed over those who were already on the site. That's all I was saying, and I'm sure you know this already.

If I was a contributor of course I'd be worried. It's a site that sets itself apart by firstly having great personal service (kiss that goodbye when there are several hundred times the existing number of contributors) and by charging fairer prices for work than most of the micros (kiss that goodbye too when supply starts to far outstrips demand on the site).

Nothing wrong with what you're doing, there's lots of people making a living in far worse ways on the internet. Good on you for being the first one to decide to exploit your fellows work on this site. It's just a shame for those who decided to stand on the quality of their own work represented at clipartof or to be selective about who they invited to join the site.

edited because "oublic" isn't a word!

You didn't read the thread or you'd not only seen that I was asked to find artist by clipartof.com. I was doing it as a favour. You understand helping people?

You'd also notice that other contributors had commented as well.
Think what you like about the referrals I DID NOT DO IT FOR THE REFERALS!.

I can quote Jamie in saying that she is going to LIMIT the amount of contributors, so those that joined up are lucky as she is going to be very selective in the future.

She wants focus on her existing artists and not be anything like the large microsites.
She will have her artists create from requests - there are her words!

I do stand on the quality of my work.
I will create over 20,000+ images myself by the end of the year.

People from this forum where excepted for what they offered, for there talent NOT to take up space on the site as that seems to be what you are implying. Quality not quantity.

I exploited no one. Those that kept it to themselves where in a position to exploit it by keeping it quiet.

If everyone thought like you this forum would not exist....would it

You should really have some idea about what you are talking about before you post false accusations.

I'd like to go into more detail about your post but if I said exactly what I was thinking I'd be banned from this forum.

thanks for correcting me. I had completely misread your motives. You are not doing this for the referals, so your happy for people reading this thread to sign up without letting Jamie know who told them about the site? That's fine then.

If you read my post you would know the answer to that.

Do I seriously need to continually go over what I've already stated with you?

Are you sure you are not a contributer? You didn't know anything about Clipartof before this thread?

The OP is simply trying to get some referal earnings. That's not to say that anything he says is untrue, but I'm (very) sure Clipartof get more than enough new images through word of mouth. They already have a very substantial backlog of excellent images waiting to be keyworded and put up on the site and I'm sure this que would have only increased with or without the OPs help.
I thought that Jamie always did the keywording, which is really as it should be, avoiding spamming from the outset and giving all the artists a chance to compete on a level playing field.
The images on CAO seem to rank really well on Google image searches too, so this may also be something to do with the way Jamie does the keywording and SEO's the images appropriately.

You're 100% sure you are not a contributor?

It's mid stock not micro.

Note the date.....still sure.

And you where aware I was not the first to mention Clipartof on this forum.

For someone who is not contributor you seem know allot and complain allot

What? When did I say I wasn't a contributor !? I didn't say either way. If I am a contributor surely that adds more, not less weight to what I'm saying.
I notice you pretty sharply changed your last posts from a simple "YES" to an attack on me. hmmmm interesting

it appears this discussion has been reduced to a petty argument.
