Has anyone heard how the grand opening went?

What does it mean when "someone has collected your image"?

What does it mean when "someone has collected your image"?

It means that someone added your image to his/her 'favorites'

I checked their twitter feed, but they just mentioned it's over.

I'm thinking I'll leave my 20 images up on Crated through this week, to the end of May.

By then, if the site managers are still incommunicado and haven't sent me the mysterious "You're curated!" email (or any sort of response at all), and if my images are still just sitting there unprotected by watermarks, I'll probably take 'em down.

It's a shame, because I do like some aspects of this site, but those two problematic issues really aren't sitting well with me.

It took about 2 weeks after uploading before I got the 'curated in' email.  The lack of a watermark is a little disconcerting.

Yes, that's the most troublesome thing about it. Otherwise, I could be patient with a delay, given that it's a start-up operation that just had its grand opening party.

Maybe some others here will begin getting those "curated in" emails and will share the news with the rest of us. However, as long as we continue to hear nothing, we may begin to assume the "curation" has in fact happened and we just didn't make the cut.

No news does not appear to be good news in this curious little game.

Well, I received the "curated mail" today, and now can see my images searching them by keywords and in "discover art".
It seems images are indexed very fast: I uploaded 2 images 1 hour ago, and can see them searching by keyword.

I received this email today:

"We really like your art and you've been promoted as a featured gallery on Crated!

Your work will now appear in search results and will be cycled within our 'Discover art' page.

Congrats. Let's sell some art!"

Not sure if this is the famous "curated in" email, but now my images can be searched.

BTW, I opened a support ticket regarding the issue with the fact that images can be easily downloaded from contributor galleries by means of the mouse right button and have been told that they are working on a solution for this. I will come back with the progress...

This is very good news! Thanks, Yure and Perezsanz, for sharing your experiences. Maybe things are starting to move now.

Others please let us know when you hear something from Crated.

OK, I discovered that mine was not a "curated mail". I received the same mail as peresanz, and in crated my images are searchable, but not present in the "curated section", which is only 8 pages long, while in "discover art" there are, now, 1127 pages.
So, it seems there are 3 levels for images: not featured, promoted and curated

Mine either.  I suspect that if we're not in the curated section it won't be worth a wooden nickel to contribute since your images need to be "curated" to be "accepted", at least that's how I understood their acceptance policy.

I'm more optimistic. From a buyer's point of view, I think, 8 pages only of "curated" images give no many choices. If someone is searching for, i.e. "ship in the windstorm", he finds nothing in curated, while in the wider searchable database he can find three wonderful, state-of-the-art, inimitable images.  ;D
Not to mention a "salty dog" search: astounding results in the normal galleries, nothing in curated  8)

I also got the Curated Mail today. I think I had to wait about 5 days.
Was doubtful if I was going to get it, so you never know!

Good luck to all of you waiting!

Sure would be nice if Crated would explain all these ins-and-outs to potential contributors, either on site or via a courtesy email when we first submit images for consideration.

Instead, we're expected to wait an unspecified period of time (weeks ?) in eager anticipation of an email that may or may not ever come, all the while exposing some of our best images to easy theft.

My enthusiasm for this site is decreasing by the day.

Do you know if you are actually "curated" at this point? Or are your images just "findable" via a search?

I got a message from them today- my work is now searchable.  (same message as Peresanz)

I uploaded 15 originally, it took 6 days.

I would like a bit of watermark, and it would be nice if they outlined the process somewhere so we know what the terms mean and how and when they happen.

Now lets see some sales.

At this point I wonder what's the difference between being promoted and being curated. Either case your images are searchable and can be purchased...

Looks like it's the same thing Pere.
Well, they are searchable and also newly submitted work is being displayed.

It looked a great event ... now if the web site could catch up and be finished that would be nice.

How can I change prices for my prints? It's cheapest in all POD sited around.
Btw. I must admit I don't understand it - I was told I have to wait for curator but my images are on sale from start... With no email back.
