It's similar to favorites. When  you look at someone else's work - and are logged in - you can click on the heart on the top right to collect it. On your gallery (profile) page you'll see a tab for Collection nnn (with whatever number of items you've collected).

You can also follow people - I think you get a notice when they upload new stuff versus not if you just collect works by artists

For those of you on FAA, I've noticed a lot of what appears to be trawling through my portfolio (over days and weeks) from what appears to be a single location. I worry that someone's lifting all the watermarked previews from there as I can't figure out why there'd be so many crawlers.
Jo Ann, is that trawling coming from Provo, UT?  I've been getting many hits from there, and so has my husband (who has his own fine art paintings on FAA).

Not for me. St. Petersburg, Russian Federation and Sunnyvale, CA. Any new uploads are visited by Kiez - Germany, but I haven't uploaded in a few months, so mostly this is just visits to existing stuff.

I just started to upload to FAA last week and have noticed also a lot of visits from Kiez, germany.

I made a sale (print) this morning - my first at Crated. Just thought I'd reply to the thread as donding had asked...
That is awesome to hear JoAnn ... hopefully more of us will be reporting sales soon :)

Thanks again! I was even lucky enough to be featured on the front page once.  Hope to see some sales.

That one is apparently the Trendiction bot, which I hadn't heard of (BWDIK?)

I added a few more to my collection and promptly got an email letting me know they are promoting me.
"Nice work!

We really like your art and you've been promoted as a featured gallery on Crated!" So I will give this a try.

Great collection Brad - I'm now following you - love those birds! Faved a few.

I have to upload some new stuff next week. It's nice that my gallery has been promoted but it's way too small to expect sales yet.

I went to the site using my ipad for the first time and did some searches and they were empty ot had only one image. i saw that by default I was searching the curated collection which apparently i am not in. It would seem to me if the default search shows no results the search itself will be useless and will actually lose and visitors that mange to find the site. On my desktop it shows 'all" the images as the default search. I did notice that my work is in the collection called "upcoming" which is right under "curated". Well that makes me feel a little better but does not change the fact that there is not enough content in the default search to keep visitors engaged long enough to see there are other options besides "curated'. I know they are trying to put e best up front but they are making the store look empty.

Sales anyone?

Zip.  But, I don't have many images there.  I was 'crated' so my images are searchable.  It's still very early; I imagine if Crated is going to be successful it will take awhile.

No sales here either.

Some people were just collecting artworks of others. I hope those are the potential buyers. No?

Non-artists are collecting my work as well as artists. I wonder if they are using it as a Pinterest. I also wonder how this is being marketed. Or does that even matter.

finally got around to following all those who've posted here, and hope you will do the same:

https://crated.com/cascoly

still trying to figure out what the 'upcoming' means --  my earliest uploads show in both 'all' and 'upcoming', while images upl'd a few days ago don't show up anywhere

Did this company ever start making sense with regard to 'curation' and search visibility?

I was allowed into the beta, then wasted a bunch of time creating a gallery before realizing I wasn't one of The Chosen, i.e. I wouldn't show up in search results.  So I deleted everything.

It seems like nothing is happening there.  I see the same 'featured artists' as I did when the site first went live, months ago.

If there was some clearly defined procedure for submitting a portfolio and being accepted or rejected, I could get interested.   But who wants a gallery with a Search bar at the top that only pulls up other people's stuff?

My experience exactly. I'm happy for those of us who were "chosen," but for me it's not worth the bother.

is this similar to 500px?  r either of these worth joining, bcos on the other thread on 500px there was mention of the same thing ie not found on search.  if so, what would be the point of uploading there? just to get the other "favorites" more exposure with your own port.
pls share ur experience (or displeasure), so it can save me the trouble if it is (displeasurable). much appreciated.

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for 'curation' if it means accepting good stuff and not a lot of repetitious junk.   But with Crated, you can't find out what they're looking for - it's some weird guessing game.

Actually, if they want to restrict their promotion and search results to accepted 'artists', that's ok too - just remove the Search box, and other Crated doo-dads, from the top of my gallery.

Yesterday I uploaded about 150 pics and got the "We really like your art and you've been promoted as a featured gallery on Crated!" email.

All of my work is available to buy but not all of it is available in the search. Maybe it takes a while but I'm getting the idea there are three tiers. You get in with the approved email, then they pick which stuff shows up in the search, and from those they pick which stuff shows up in the "Curated" area.

Anybody else seeing this or is all of your work showing up in the search?

Hi Paulie,

I have experience, that after upload it takes some time once images are available in the search.
By the way there is just opened new feature to create your own gallery sets (https://crated.com/account/galleries).

I had a sale overnight of my latest work uploaded there - http://crated.com/art/87705/blue-moon-over-bramble-bay-by-silkenphotography

I'm hardly about to retire on the money but given my small port, I find it promising.

I recently got 'in' at Crated - well at least they accepted me into the search - but I'm not seeing many signs of life.  The site hasn't really changed for something like a year - same 'featured' artists in 'community', main page hasn't changed. No new live gallery events since that one in 2014.  Last blog post Oct 16th, a trickle on FB.    The search results seem very incomplete and inconsistent.

I'm uploading photos but without much enthusiasm.

I won't post my link here because I want to remain anonymous on MSG.  Too bad there's no forum on Crated.
