When Zazzle BR opened, I received an email from their BR staff inviting me to open a store in the BR site.  I understood they would be actually promoting these stores.

Anyway, only months later I opened my BR store (this thread) and had some issues. The first was that the products appeared in the USA site but not in the BR site were they were created.  A couple of days later, this was solved.

But what isn't solved is that the description and keywords are not translated to the other languages (I checked Zazzle USA, ES, FR and DE).   Here is an example:
http://www.zazzle.com/body_bebe_agapornis_tshirt-235037151774007172
keywords "body", "lovebirds" and "fashion" were already in English in the BR version.

I would not mind the descriptions much - in fact, given the poor job in their translations, I would rather write them in other languages myself (at least English, in some special cases in other languages), but it would be a nightmare to include keywords in all languages!

And then, in the other hand, creating everything in the USA site is another problem.  If I write something in Portuguese, their translator thinks it's English and does some even more bizarre translation that it does on the English text.

I wonder if anyone here has a non-English Zazzle store and also have this problem.  If this is how it works, what is the purpose of opening a non-English store?  Only avoiding the poor translations to your language?  But then we're missing a much larger audience.

I have seen some people in Portugal with stores...
But I was wondering if there is even market for these type of products in Brazil, because of the price...
I find it expensive and I'm in the US, I can only imagine the dollar convertion to brazlian currency it would be two times more expensive and plus the price of shipping...I also wonder how does custom plays....I remember my friend bought something from Japan, and it got caught in the fed/ customs, she had to pay an extra fee to get her stuff in the post office.

But I don't know, in my case I thought of making a portuguese version but I gave up on the idea...
I don't think I can trust making a version in portuguese but  i don't think I would get sales from brazil plus the piracy problem.

In any case I found a few brazlian stores and I was just laughing, because one had hello kitty stuff, and other trademarked stuff, and I'm sure the girl doesn't know what copyright or trademark is...but as you know in Brazil this happens lol

The products I would have in the BR store would be very specific (children apparel, basically) that I would also market locally, but anyway I did not meant to sell only in Brazil (therefore my complaint about the lack of translations).

I am not sure Zazzle will succeed here - I still have very little traffic from BR in my Zazzle USA store.  Prices are high, and all products come from USA - but the guy from Zazzle BR said their postage costs would be reasonable due to some special arrangement they had.

However, when ordering my own stuff from the BR store in the BR Zazzle, I noticed another point of concern: products apparently go through customs, so they may be subject to taxes.  THIS was very surprising to me, as I expected Zazzle to be taking care of any import taxes.  There are many stores here selling imported stuff, and their prices include import taxes (unless they smuggle them, but then it's not my fault).  When I buy in any BR website, I don't expect that the product will come from abroad to me, as if I had bought it in a foreign website.

My order is still on the way, and I wonder if I will be surprised by extra fees to retrieve them.
