Update: I appealed contested images, @ half were reinstated in a few days to the "general population". Curation out of Canva for Education was upheld on the rest. These were mostly alcohol, Halloween or tobacco related so not entirely unreasonable. I imagine that they may be curating with global markets in mind.
About halfway through their emails a statement was added to the autoresponder: essentially stating no need to take any action such as removing content, and that this curation *does not* affect account standing. And a few nice words on how they value our contributions.
The curated-out images are still visible in my items, and still appear in editor image search from a Pro account, as do the reinstated images.

Got the same email, with same incorrect violation descriptions like bottles as sexual or violent imagery, etc. I also draw mainly cute things.
I received an earlier violation notice for an innocuous image as violent and contacted their support re: the wording of these violation notices implies we're wilfully doing something against their tos. They clarified not to worry, it's just broad wording, & that all that will happen is they will not show it to the Education users. I reiterated that is not what the notice indicates as it states both that it will not be shown, AND that repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension. I asked if content being curated out of Canva for Education counts as a strike against the account, they did not answer.
I take no issue with curation in general however, there has been poor to no explanation, or accurate reasons why things trigger warnings in the first place. I understand why they are moving tobacco, alcohol, sexual imagery etc. out of the Education offerings, that's not the problem. Contributors need clarification (from a human) why so many innocuous images are also being swept up, AND if this retroactive curation has a negative impact on our account. The ai sorting these appears to be experiencing some issues.
I've appealed some of these and so far receive same (automated?) form letter justifying the violation with no further explanation. Canva, if you're lurking here can you please offer some clarification?

Hi Danny Canva, it would be helpful to have a reason provided for rejected files from a list of predetermined options? (technical, not interested in content, etc.)
I recall Lee Torrens explaining the red circle/slash rejected files are "hard rejects", but the others are "soft rejections" that may be tweaked and re-uploaded. Problem is, with no idea why anything is rejected it's not worth trying to figure out where the issue may be causing the rejection.

Re: culled previously approved images, if you go to creator hub > my items and select rejected from the pull down menu middle top (defalt is "all status"), you can see which files have been deactivated. No reason is provided but at least you can see which files were retroactively "rejected" as they show up under this filter.

Canva earnings continue their slide, Dec. was back to 2016 level. Other forums reporting creator earnings are also down (anecdotally) on avg. @ 60%. Which is where mine currently are, after steadily growing yoy until their AI rollout in late 2022.
Curious if any other contributors are experiencing similar? Trying to determine if it's worth creating new content or not, as I hear rejections have also increased.

Hi @dannycanva can you please clarify if the contributor ai opt-in / opt-out option is permanent or not? Are we able to opt-out at a later date after opting-in, and vice-versa?

Am curious how others are doing on Canva recently? Its still a good earner, but has been declining since Nov. 2022, coincidentally(?) coinciding with their gen AI rollout.
April was the poorest earning month in > 3 years. Am only uploading occasionally so impossible to know if decline is from increased competition, stale content, ai competition, algorithmic changes, or all of the above.
Have also noticed that no new approved/published images are showing in the Element Creator Performance tab since the contributor analytics went live in Jan. despite being sorted by Most Recent, and showing up as single sales in Earnings tab. Maybe Danny Canva can weigh in on this?

It's under the Element Creator Menu on the left (where you go to upload using their website portal), then select Dashboard from the top 3 tabs. At least that's where it shows up in my view.

With the new contributor dashboard roll out, Canva states that the template designers' pool, and the element creators' pool are still separate, so in theory no earnings dilution is occurring this way. That said, I'm also experiencing declining earnings YOY there in line with what others have posted, for the first time after many years. I believe it may be dilution from increase in supply recently, and/or algo changes favouring newer content. The wild card here is their affiliate AI roll out this fall, which also coincided with my first YOY significant monthly earnings decline. While it's great to finally have some analytics, the dashboard is quite vague.Last year's numbers have adjusted several times since going live so am taking these with a grain of salt until it stabilizes, but so far sales volume is > expected, RPI < expected. Curious what others think of the new dash?

Canva usually pays on time, by the 15th of every month for previous months earnings.. Sometimes payment arrives days earlier, occasionally a day or 2 later which was the case this month. To date they have been reliable in this regard.

If you look at your contributor public profile page, it will reorder differently @ once every 24 hrs, previously it was static. Canva introduced this feature last spring, (at least in my region). Thought it may offer insight into what images are currently selling, however have been asking them this question for months and still crickets.

Good to know Im not the only one with long response times. Do you happen to know the significance of the public profile image auto-reordering feature they introduced last spring? Momentum, popularity, sales-based perhaps? One of my long unanswered questions with them.

Ive been a Canva vector contributor for 7 years, with a high volume port there. Have emailed contributor support with (non-tech support) questions multiple times in last year and received 0 response which is unusual. Slow to reply, consistently yes. Never replying, this is new. Used to deal directly with Lee Torrens when he was there, and communication was fantastic.
Have other contributors experienced the same? Am trying to get answers re: long promised contributor-facing analytics, sales transparency under subscription plan, and removal of public profile image likes, which offered one of the few clues into individual image performance.
Danny Canva can you please provide an update? Canvas contributor side desperately needs attention.

Canvas recently added an image-reordering feature on the contributor Public Profile page that updates @ every 24 hrs. Have asked them if this is a small step towards better (any) contributor analytics and am eagerly awaiting their reply any month now. In the meantime thought Id ask if other contributors have any idea? Perhaps sales, momentum, or popularity-based over a certain timeframe? Any insight appreciated.

I havent checked ftp upload in last week so not sure if also broken for me, but regarding the sales page issue mine was frozen for @ 3 days. Normally I do decent volume on individual sales daily so it was broken, but as of this afternoon seems to be functional again.
