Like someone else had mentioned, the image looks good except for the bottom of the lower mint.

Computer Hardware / Re: Need help with AMD processor info
« on: January 13, 2009, 00:57 »
Hey there, I had previously done some research on a similar subject when outfitting my then gaming PC. When it comes to the difference in voltage, there really isnt any difference in performance. The 65w version obviously uses less power and runs much cooler. The power consumption is somewhat negligible  and unless you use the PC for solid gaming or it is in a very poorly ventilated area, the higher operating temp is a non-issue.

However the problem you are going to run into is motherboard compatibility. Seeing as how you PC most likely came equipped with a 4800+, you are going to have a AM2 motherboard.  While the AM2 chipset is technically capable of running a quad core phenom processor, the results are a mixed bag. In most cases, if your going to stick with the AM2 chipset, your better off going with a higher end Dual Core processor.

I would personally recommend a Athlon x2 6000+. Its cheap and ist performance gained would most likely be greater than dropping a phenom into your AM2 socket.  It's also what I originally used when I built my gaming PC last year. Although I dont really use it for gaming anymore, it is a multimedia monster.

Here on some links to help you out;

General Stock Discussion / Re: Bogus microsock website?

Ahh, that makes sense. Thanks for the info. Yeah, the job situation isn't the greatest but I live in Dallas and I am fairly skilled, it shouldn't be too long before I am back on my feet.

Yeah, I have always been interested in, and halfway decent at photography and decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to pick up a DSLR after messing around with a friends for the weekend. I have already spent thousands on my existing hobby (mountain biking) and decided that showing the wife the possibility of turning a profit on a new hobby would help persuade her into signing off on the deal. I guess it will have to wait a little longer at this point though.

General Stock Discussion / Bogus microsock website?
« on: January 12, 2009, 23:10 »
So, since the middle of last week I am out of a job... :-\ and I was cruising hotjobs.com looking for a new one when I came across this posting;

http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/job-J0ALKLTGGO8;_ylt=AvO4G10jfJIvtR0VHVj0DYr6Q6IX?source=SRP

I thought that was funny because I just became aware of the microstock thing (and this website) a few weeks ago.
The job posting itself advertised the website www.iPaidPhoto.com. When you click on it it will either link to;

http://solidworkgroup.com/email/form.html (just a form wanting basic info)

or

http://moneymakingpeople.com/?p=11 (nothing more than a blog entry with a few dozen comments)

It seems like a complete scam and not being able to find anything here about www.ipaidphoto.com kinda confirms that. Does anyone else know about this site? Or is this a common scam that I am just not aware of at this point?

This is what I found directly fro the NASA website...

This general permission does not extend to use of the NASA insignia logo (the blue "meatball" insignia), the retired NASA logotype (the red "worm" logo) and the NASA seal. These images may not be used by persons who are not NASA employees or on products (including Web pages) that are not NASA-sponsored.

So yeah, it looks like you can use them as long as they are accepted, you just cant make it appear that NASA is endorsing whatever you are selling/advertising.  :-X
