I agree for most stock content. Textures for use in 3D etc. is not comparable to concept and model shots. $1-2 is IMO a fair price for textures. And textures sell comparably well, so the comparison makes no sense.

I shoot for stock sites myself. My first stock photo was of a basic white brick wall. That was six years ago and that photo is to this day my best selling one � by a factor of ten! Only a small crop of my current portfolio is of textures, but they make up the majority of my income. So I believe there is a basis for a site like The Texture Store.
